Spanking other people's kids in public: A new trend?

Ok, so a couple weeks ago, before the PR was shut down, I posted the article about the old guy in Walmart who slapped some woman's fussy baby...

Take 2! This woman spanked another shopper's toddler in the Salvation Army store! The mother was all upset because the spanker confronted her and "tried to tell me what to do and how to take care of my own child"... so like, do it and stop letting your kid run around like a wild animal?

It starts the debate: Who is wrong, people who smack random shopper's children? Or parents who subject other people to their unruly, undisciplined spawn? Or, both? I'd say complain to the store, but I know for a fact they won't (or can't) do anything.

You definitely can't hit someone else's kid unless the parents give you permission.(babysitter, and I meant spank). Some parents should be spanked for allowing their hooligans to run amuck. My kids have learned at school that I am not allowed to hit them, yeah right! Smaaaaacccckkkkk, right in the kisser.

LOL That would be a good compromise Gladass! People can just hit the parents instead!!!

Well if you buy into the 'village' theory then anyone should have the right to discipline an unrully child.

But then now days it seems that even the parents can not punish a child in public.

Maybe this is the logical backlash.

Blondie doesn't have a list! He says he'll do whatever I want. He already has kids, so he's fine not doing that again, but said he would if I decided I wanted to.

Have kidsitting!:-)

Classic response of a newly wed.

That is a mans way of saying he wants kids but does not want to directly 'preasure' you into it. The old 'he would if I decided I wanted to' trick!!!!!!!!

I was brought up in an Irish/Italian neighborhood in Newark NJ. Get caught doing something unacceptable and you got your butt paddled by who ever's parents caught you THEN you got taken home and got it a SECOND TIME by YOUR parents. If it was a bunch of you all the parents got together and the punishment was meted out all at once. It seemed to be common practice in the 50's and early 60's. We got carried away one mischief nite and soaped a couple of dozen car windows, we spent all day saturday washing every car on our street. That was the last time we ever did that.

'Smack random shopper's children' or 'administer much needed parental guidance'. It all depends on how you phrase it.
