Dora Smart hit the nail on the head. To all you bloggers that lament everyday as to why the youth of America act the way they do, reread her opinion. Values and morals, the two most important ingrediants to making a society stable. Without them, you are heading for trouble.

Cripes, did you even read Rev. Ken's letter? Or did you see the abbreviation "Rev." and the word "Christian" in the letter and automatically go into your religious-bigot rant?

The Rev. Moody-Arndt is THE most liberal and open-minded pastor I've ever met. I bet you don't know the man. If you did, you'd realize he's not some kind of fundie hard-liner. I've seen his library, talked with him at length... it's real easy for you to just regurgitate the same old anti-Christian rants you seem to so willingly swallow.

If you'd read his letter you would have noticed his learned tolerance for ALL matters of faith.

This ain't fairy tale stuff, man. Spirituality has always been and will remain a major factor in the lives of billions of people every day.

What do you turn to in times of grief or despair? To what do you attribute good fortune and good health?

When you cuss, do you say "Aw, Jesus Christ!"? "God damn it!"? Or do you cuss like "There's no God damn it!"?

If it's all a myth, it has survived millenia, been attacked philosophically, personally, and militarially, believers put to death en masse (up to and including today), yet still survives. To what do you attribute that?

Could one of you bible believers please explain the following to me? Maybe you, coonie:

Q - What does God say should happen to a master who beats his slave to death?
A - He should avoid all punishment if the slave survives for a couple days after the beating.“And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished. Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money”(Exodus 21:20-21).


Q - Does God allow you to sell your daughter into slavery?

A - Yes. And the situation is not unbearable for her since, if her master takes her as his wife and she does not please him, he must set her free “And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do. If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation, he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her. And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters. If he take him another wife: her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish”(Exodus 21:7-10).
