Time to add tolls to I-71, as well. ODOT only paid for half of its budget last year with the gas tax. Let's get this big monkey off of the state taxpayer's budget.

You have to admire when the government makes it so much more convenient to separate you from your money. It's like withholding taxes from your paycheck. If you don't look you don't see exactly how much they are taking from you.

Once the states start leasing the interstates to private companies (already happening in some areas) you'll see more tolls pop up. Not sure how fast this will happen, but once it does it will cost more in tolls to drive to Florida than in gas...

I am from New York and all I have to say it is about time Ohio gets with the other states. PA, NJ, VA, WV are all using it. Travel I-90 through buffalo it is always fun to pass everyone who is waiting in line to pay with cash and than go through E-Z pass.

there are camerias if you go through the ez pass and your plate doesnt match their records for having ez pass you will receive a fine by mail.

Ez pass works by taking a set dollar amount from you 25.00, 50.00 at a time since i dont use it very often they deduct 25.00 at a time from my checking to my ez pass account once i hit 10.00 it will deduct another 25.00 its not something that will charge your checking or credit card all of the time. you can view your bills online and if you dont have a computer your local library has one you can use.

Glad they spun this. At the Brecksville exit there were no EZ pass only lanes and traffic was backed up onto the mainline.

I went for a visit to NYC, I got into the wrong lane and could not switch back to the manned toll both exit. I came across a toll both with no people to take my toll. I thought, how odd. Later, I got a ticket for not paying my toll of $5 or less, but it was $25 in a fine. I charged it on the phone, the lady took a long time. I got to thinking, maybe I should see how much EZ pass had fined me, she ran my credit card six times for $125 for a $3.75 toll. I called the bank and canceled 5 of the over charges, how easy it was to steal, it must be a real art there. I think there was a kick back scheme in addition to the rip off scheme. Being from out of state, they thought I would not get wise to them and sort it out before they ripped me off. Word to the wise.

About the roads, and bridges to the Manhattan Beach, apparently they were made by carts with one wheel bigger than the other, causing them to not be parallel or straight. I think the whole city, street lay out and DOT, were crooked.

So not being able to ascertain my direction, nor having a GPS device, I got lost six time for a total of six hours, trying to find the address of a friend, for if you pass your turn off, there is no easy way to get back to where you needed to get to.

I normally do not get lost having traveled the world 10 times and the US ten times in the military, not even in London, Warsaw or Krakow. The people were not helpful to a lost stranger. I stopped to ask for directions and was told by an undercover cop, that I was in the wrong neighborhood, apparently, whites were not welcome in the Saharan neighborhood.

I never so many cops on the street in all my life. They even had a RV command post to sort out all the crime life as it was overly abundant. I will not go back to Manhattan Beach again, nor will I pay for their toll roads either.

Yes EZ-Pass is good, however if you have a problem with them, good luck. I have had EZ-Pass and I-Pass for years and when they became compatable I cancelled EZ-Pass.

AND to let everyone who drives a dulley pickup know in advance, in Ohio you will pay the same toll as a 26,000 lb. six wheel commercial truck. Ohio will no longer go by weight but by the number of tires on your vehicle.

You can also choose to recieve a monthly statement in the mail, however they will probably charge you a fee somewhere around Two Dollars per month.

To Ripped off in NYC

This is a very good reason to stay away from EZ-Pass. I had one from New Jersey in the past and each time I had a problem,(which I admit was not often) it was a big hassel. To start with, getting a person that spoke English as their first language was very lucky, and then having them correct the mistake was rare indeed.

I now have I-Pass that I picked up in Chicago and I am really satisfied. If you have a problem, you just call them and the person on the phone can make the correction right then and there.

They also have an office that only works on problems with overcharges on the Pa. turnpike. I never use the transponder in Pa.

I might add that the I-Pass works in every state that E-Z Pass works.
