The whole story has not been told. Yes Scott needs to be punished but the girl was not attacked! Also this has nothing to do with the school. There are good people there and it is safe! My child use to go there and we will return! Emily is a wonderful teacher, owner and a great example to these kids! May God Bless these people!

Having attended classes myself at their studio, I was floored by the accusations. At this stage we don't know the details.
Granted, IF Scott was messing around with a student, he was definitely in the wrong on multiple levels (fidelity, age, authority, etc). And IF he actually physically attacked her, that would be many times worse.
Right now all we have is he said/she said. It's possible that we have a teenage girl either trying to cover her role in this (though Scott, being the adult and in his position, is clearly the one that's culpable) by exagerating things, she could be lying about it all, or the whole thing could be true.
Judging from Emily's reaction there is something to this, but we don't really know how bad it is at this point, and we may never know the truth.
Having raised a daughter and having nieces that take karate classes, if it's true I hope he's sent away forever... if it's not, then the old question arises... Where does Scott go to get his reputation back?

My son attends the karate school in North Royalton. When I first heard of this incident I was shocked as most of the parents were. I agree that Scott is innocent until proven guilty regarding the "attack" on the 14 year old girl. But more concerning to me is the fact that authorities found child pornography on his computer. Let's not make light of that situation as this man was very involved with children of all ages.

Did they find child porn on computers? Or... are they looking into it? What are the facts?

Since when did Emily become the owner? Scott owned that school long before she came along. Any of you who question the allegations are crazy. Both parties admitted to having sex. A 14 year old (among other girls who have yet to come forward as I have heard from other active karate parents) cannot consent. PERIOD! Scott manipulated a star-struck little girl(s). I am curious to see what comes out of the child pornography that was found on his computer.

And to "someone who cares", you should open your eyes and care a little more. Having sex with a 14 year old IS AN ATTACK. How can you say this had nothing to do with the school? DUH!! This has everything to do with the school. Scott is clearly a pedophile given the fact that child pornography was found on his computer. I would ask the parents of the girls that Scott had sex with if they think it was safe there and if this has nothing to do with the school!!!

Is anyone sure that the girl or girls are telling the truth? Did more than one girl formally come forward? Was child porn was found on the computer? Is the police investigation complete? It can take weeks to investigate a computer. Today is one month since computers were removed from the home... does anyone know the results of the investigation? If child porn was found, were additional charges issued?

Response to "a karate parent" Emily became owner when she said "I DO." People are not crazy to question these allegations. Scott is someone our children looked up to. I am only aware of one girl making any accusations. Why are you using someones heartache to gossip and exagerate the situation. I haven't heard any news that any child pornography was even found. If this has everything to do with the school then why is the mother of the "star struck little girl" keeping her in the karate studio? I understand if you're angry but don't hurt Emily anymore than she already is. Have a heart!!!!!!!!!!

I am absolutley appalled and shocked by this. I found out on Oct. 22nd. My fried and I were in the car and I said that my old Karate teacher and his wife just had a baby and that it was in the newspaper. My friend used to come to karate with me. I went from when I was 10 to when I was 14. And my friend said,'Wasn't his name Scott Grey?''Yeah. Why?' My friend screamed 'that perv!' my mom was also in the car with us and gave me a look. I didn't believe my friend until I saw in the newspaper. I am just so disguisted and shocked. I mean, I KNEW him! I TRUSTED him! When I saw that article, I felt ill, like I was going to puke.

i also believe that this could have happened if there is more proof than a he said she said. did THEY admit? Sometimes girls can get crushes that can get out of hand and with them just having a baby, who's to say that this girl did not get jealous and make up a lie?! Are there others? Did they find child pornography? Nothing has really been said about this case. If it is all true then yes he should get a more haness punishment because he was in a position to where he could take advantage of the situation. There are pedafiles, but he had clear access to girls and boys of all ages who trusted him. He abused his position. Even if he is not guilty he will never have the life he once had. Could you trust someone after an incident like this, honestly? He will never have the same respect from people.

this whole situation is extremely bad for our industry. when i read this i was suprised that and organization as large as the ATA would not screen school owners better than this. are they not somewhat responsible for not training their people better?

The ata does screen their instructors but if someone has never done anything like this before it is impossible to predict what someone will do in the future. I hope that people realize that there are nuts in every industry and that one nut is not an accurate way to judge the orgination.

I was shocked to hear this news. Scott Gray was our instructor. I think people should hear the facts and not try to assume what happened. It is amazing what people dream up that hasn't even happened. I feel really bad for Emily but if Scott is hasn't done all the stuff people are accusing him of it makes it worse! His reputation is at stake.

ATA does screen their instructors. He was one of the best instructors around. Please lets not blame other people for anothers actions. Churches, School Teachers, Cops, you name it. Every industry has someone in it that may do something wrong!!!

I'm seriously disappointed in Scott. I've known him for years thinking of him as someone I wanted to be more like. Never in my life would I have ever thought that he would ever do anything like what he is accused of. But I guess everyone has a Dark Side... I just pray that everything turns out OK... For Emily and the TKD school.

Every single one of you, stop with your gossip, stop with your conjecture. If you haven't spoken to a detective or the prosecuter, you have no business speaking of this at all. Hear me now; the facts are simple...computers were confiscated 9/26/07 from home and business by Brunswick PD and FBI. Owners of computers knew why they were being taken, police don't take things from your home unless there is probable cause, it's unlawful. Teenage victims did not come forward until 10/5/07. Arrested 10/16/07. GET REAL, what were they thinking between 9/26 and 10/16? GET REAL AGAIN,$2 million bond? I challenge you to find another case like it, the closest one we found was $75,000. How about the thousands of images found on the computers, are they your daughters? Think about it, it's a possibility. Next time you decide to gossip, you should think about the real people who have been victimized for YEARS by this guy and realize that your comments dig deep and hurt.

Wow... talk about conjecture. "Next time you decide to gossip, you should think about the real people who have been victimized for YEARS by this guy and realize that your comments dig deep and hurt."

I've heard of only one victim that claims Scott assaulted her, a 14 y.o girl. I've not yet heard of the evidence beyond her saying it's so.

I know that they took the computers, but I have no idea what they found once they looked at them.

I think it's conjecture to assume based on the dates and bond amount that there were multiple victims and thousands of images.

It's entirely possible that Scott is guilty... of course it's also possible that he's not. Until the evidence is made public in a trial, we don't know. "Probable cause" doesn't mean guilty, it means they had reason to suspect that something was amiss.

Actually Victim 1 commenting on when the girl came forward is the first time I've heard that detail. I assume Victim 1 has some kind of insider knowledge, or there has been information made public that I simply haven't seen.

If you've ever been falsely accused of anything, I'd urge you to withhold judgement until the trial. After the evidence is made public then we're all entitled to our thoughts on it.
