What can we do to make our town bring in more tourism? Make our park stand out, have people come here for rides and games we have more to offer than the little town of portia! Our sales tax is almost double that of portia and they have the portia picnic!!!! We have Spring river and so much more, if the community would work together and stop talking trash! I want my kids to feel proud of this town not ashamed of the once over infested drugs population!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!

The flea markets around hardy are a big attraction if Ravenden had a place to set up sellers could come and buyer would come. Also Ravenden has the statue of raven a photographer could take pictures of people with the statue and couild tranfer pics to tee shirts to sell to tourists.Some one on spring river could offer boat rides maybe even paddle boats. There are tons of ideas you can come up with but getting them implemeted is the thing.

The more tourist come then it is a restaurants dream they get hungry they wanna eat. You could print cards of the statue and sell to tourist pics of the spring river to sell a lot of things.5145

The first thing needs to be done is a major clean up of the town and property facing hiway 63. It is an eye sore to most people traveling through.The town needs to fine property owners if they dont clean up property.

Some one could offer guided tours to the caves at ravenden springs.

Now that sounds more like a community working together, keep it up and we will make this town once again a wonderful place to come an see again. Together with different ideas we will make a difference. There will be someone with a bad reply but dont let that discourage you keep the ideas coming!

Flea markets would be a start especially if someone that knew the owner of the boot store enough to work out a deal i know she would love to make a extra buck. How do you start by getting a small carnival to town? Lets have this done and ready by 2010!!! How about the walk across the spring river bridge and 104 circle lets have a walk for a good cause that would start the attention we need!

I know a lot of kids that have never seen a deer or opossum or coon. Children love animals a petting zoo maybe nice.Even with animals like horses goats and chickens. Most kids now days never see farm animals like that. Also you could have a community car wash say donations for the fees. A lot of people would pay to have their car washed while they shopped flea markets. I mean its a start and an idea.

A walk sounds good maybe a Ravenden Marathon. Give the winner or winners a small gift.Lots of people would do a marathon for exercise alone. Plus they have family members who would stand on sides to watch. a vender could sell drinks hotdogs chips.

There are thousand ideas to decide upon to draw people. If we could get city wide support and city sponsered. It could happen.

How about a Parade a lot of towns have christmas parades.People love parades antique cars owners could show off cars and have a car show. You could sell tickets to it I know I enjoy looking at old cars.I even have a 1968 volkwagon all original.

I know of places that have light shows and charge to see them. You know christmas lights.

How about an arts and crafts fair. Im sure threre are a lot of people who make things knit sew wood carve.

How about a town cook book. You know get different people and businesses to submit recipes then put them all together in a book.The book could be sold around town or on the internet.

You could even have the fols that subit redipes cook up the food and offer it to tourist free if they buy the book they get the recipe how to cook it.

Sounds good. You have some great ideas! Just getting one of them done would be great and also a lot of hard work. We need to get others involved not just talk!

We will never attract tourist until we clean this town up........We need to have everyone clean up their land and make our town look really good. No one wants to live in a town with rundown propery, or next to someone who will not mow their grass, or has 15 cars in their yard.......do you see my point??

Hey what is the name of the hotel/restruant there in Ravenden on HWY 63 and does anyone have a phone number.. it's the one they just rebuilt, need to know tonight if at all possible... Thursday Night/Friday morning

during the summer this is a river town, we need to have another river access down by the hwy 63 bridge, so people can float from one to the other, without having to go to a campground or river lot. Having a river access on 63 would be more busy than just having one on first street. Besides, the one we have now needs to be upgraded bigtime, and instead of upgrading, take that money and make a new one by hwy 63.
