Oak Knoll Drive

Hello All,
I am looking for houses in Matawan moving from Staten Island (Big Surprise to all I'm Sure). Anyway, I am looking at houses on Oak Knoll drive which is kinda close to the Matawan train station. can anyone tell me about the area there. The houses are reasonably priced (339,000 - 349,000)and I was told it was due to the smaller sized yards. i have also heard the school system is very good there. If anyone can shed some light on this part of town I would appreciate it. Thanks

Oak Knoll Drive is near the parkway & train tracks so you will have noise & area traffic issues. More desirable areas are Marc Woods & Lochslea Heights . Just go to realtor.com & search around , there are many homes available. The schools are great and the crime rate is extremely low , welcome to Matawan !

I know I am asking for a lot when I say I am looking for something within walking distance to a bus or train to NYC. That is what was appealing to this area. I will look in the areas you have referred.

If I remember correctly, Oak Knoll is off County Rd., which is in the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen Township, where the young kids attend the Cliffwood Elementary School, which is on Cliffwood Ave. NJ Transit passes near there, and it can be noisey. Good luck in your search.

I moved to oak knoll drive about 1 and a half years ago.About the noise of the train, it is not as loud, but you do hear it( it is only to be expected as the train tracks are so close).No sound from parkway.You are right about the yard (it is kinda small) but the houses here are comparatively new and well priced. But beware of the property tax!
