Major fire on North Peters Lane? Should have been no problem with a highly paid department and a hydrant almost in front of the house.

You are a moron. The Co 4 has been called out at leat 5 times in the past week arriving 25 minutes before the private ambulances. Theere was a heart attack victim a week ago that probably would not have lived. FD arrived within 4 minutes of call taking vitals administering oxygen...25 min later AMR with all necessary info to expedite victim's necessary care. What's with all 5 calls resulting in not Stratford EMT sent? Seems like Stratford is utilizing more private ambulance service than ever before! That must be some pricey fees..lost revenue to Stratford's residents. Heard Best has pissed off so many volunteers, plus trucks are in total disrepair. What the hel is going on with this situation?

Problem was the delay of call into the FD. Occupants left house approx 230AM without cell phones had to knock on three neighbors doors before one would respond thereby calling in fire. Time was lost during that situation. Stop placing blame on FD when there were extenuating circumstances. The FD was @ scene less than 5 min after call. Bury your head in shame. You do not know the facts.

BTW it was no problem, oh yea the house is still standing and a majority of the owners valuables were saved and returned to them. Why don't you ask the homeowner what they thought of the response teabagger.

I was the Listing Realtor (newly constructed)of this house with first owner. I believe this is the second owner and the hydrant wasn't that close to the house as house is somewhat setback. All these houses are at least one acre apart... which means a bit of scrambling to go to 3 houses before a phone available to call the Fire Dept. I livee in that area and have to say the response by the FD in our area (4) has been record time. Professionalism and knowledge superior! It is true that the fire company 4 has responded in the past 2 weeks way sooner up to 22 minutes before an ambulance had arrived. 3 of the incidences I had witnessed and yes private ambulances were used in all three..Whay was that?

GenuinePhyllis say "I was the Listing Realtor (newly constructed) of this house with first owner." Really?

That seems a little odd to me because it seems the current, and only home owner, supposedly got the building lot through her family. Also her husband and family were in construction when they built the home for themselves.

Also - the Assessors Online Database For Stratford, CT seems not to show any home sale at that address since 1986 when the lot ownership went into that family. But you dismissed that service as inaccurate during the makeover for the newlyweds.

Anyone can learn about the lots & who owned them by asking some of your older neighbors up there. They are really nice people.

It seems you feel a need to defend the fire dept which is fine - but how far back is that house set? It seems to be right on the corner about, not really buried way back into the woods.

Seems that some just see things different than others. You and I differ in opinion. Again.

Just like when I saw the basement non-makeover in Stratford and you said it was a very similar home in NY.

Did they get any water in the last big storm or is the hardwood still baby safe?

Sorry wrong house went by today thought it was one of the subdivision I had done on the end one of the three in subdivision..house was almost identical to the last of the three now relisted..the house in the fire is on the corner with very same siding and front door. None the less the hydrant is not that close to that house either and by the way while I was there I noted their are only three hydrants for NO Peters, Kathleen and Patricia...do you think that is sufficient? Also I sold to a nice young couple in the begining of No Peters and also live in that are...Don't go getting your knickers in a twist over petty mistake. Fact remains the FD did a great job as they always do. The houses are not close together and it took three tries at 230 AM to have a neighbor answer door and call FD...Ok Sherlock? No need to be abrasive or rude as you have been in your comment. I made an honest mistake, not everyone is as perfect as you appear to be. Like your videos as I mentioned to you on the phone. Sorry you have a hair across a place where the sun does not shine but take it out on those deserving not me OK Officer F?? I have been a long term advocate of you and yours cut your petty ungrateful BS it is stale already.

Officer Phoney F: to answer your other question about hardwood floors..How the Hades would I know I have no clue as to the inside of that house or it's occupants. What exactly is your problem? I give up with you and your petty nonsense.Take your frustration out on those deserving. I am not one of them.

Instead of harping on petty nonsense why don't you aprise us of the many breakins in our area and do something about it..post anonymous info that is beneficial to the welfare of the residents you derive your paycheck from...that might be a more productive use of your troll posting time don't ya think?

BTW Officer I will have a talk with 3 of my friends who are your superiors and are not thrilled with your nasty crap you have thrown my way. You really need to control that temper of yours and perhaps mature a bit. I expect an apology from you since you have twisted the previous situation with your spinmaster BS!
hydrants

Brooklyn, NY

#12 May 3, 2010
A little trivia about the hydrants in the North Peters area- The original subdivision back in the mid 80's did not have city water. The residents all had their own wells. Patricia Drive was a dead end, like Dawn Dr., Pamela Dr., and Kathleen Dr. A few years later- Patricia Dr. was extended & the developer brought a water line in from James Farm Rd. to service the new lots. The established homes already had wells, so the water line and hydrants ended on Patricia Drive.
Several Years ago councilman Jim Feehan, who is a fireman, proposed extending that water line out to North Peters to add some more hydrants in the area- especially up towards Roosevelt Forest. Unfortunately - that project never materialized.

Why bash Jim Feehan? Just because he wanted to better the town and his neighborhood? Some just take these blogs too personally. All comments are not about you. Please take some time away from the keyboard and take a walk around Roosevelt Forest or Boothe Park - enjoy the natural beauty Stratford offers us.
