Has anyone else noticed the new look of Stoutland. Isn't it grand. I know alot of the older folk don't like the improvements but this town needs it to survive into the future.

I don't beleive that to be true. There is alot of changes besides the new look. The new super at the school is making great improvements also. Their are people there making a great effort to make it a wonderful place to live and raise a family. If everyone had the good attitude and foresight of those people the town would already be there. When negative attitudes along with people stuck in the past are about it makes those great efforts harder to move forward. Maybe a mirror is necessary in your case.

A town is only what the people make it. If you try to help it grow it will. If you try to hender it what good is that to anyone. Don't people want what is better for their children.

quality of life depends on who you are related to in that little town. i have lived here my whole life and i think the town sucks. there is now way to get ahead. the drugs and the crime is unbeleivable here. The police will look away if you are related to the mayor. God forbid if you if you disagree with them. The kids in the town are locked out of the house most of their life while their parents smoke dope. There is no work. i would tell anyone look real hard before considering a move to this area......

I disagree. I think new blood in the town is what we need.

disagree all you want. My advise to people is that I wouldnt want anyone i cared about being the "new blood " this place needs. I would not want my children to be subject to the curruption that the people in stouland are accustomed to. They are slick. They are thieves. most of them anyway. not all of them but about 98.5% of the population would rob u blind or trample over you to get what they think they want.

We will see what the future holds. I am going to remain optimistic. I think this town has real potential. There is an election coming up in the town. I think Wilma is a good candidate not sure about the other seat though. Maybe good things are in store.

I hope to move to your town soon. I am very excited to make it a better place to live. It cannot be any worse than living near KC. It is not the ideal place to rear your children. Stoutland seems to have a nice calm atmosphere not to close to the city life yet not to far away. My children are very excited to move to the country and have animals.

Has anyone eaten at the cafe in stoutland? And is it good and how are the prices?

The name of the cafe is The Rose Cafe and its pretty good, its down home cooking. The prices are real reasonable. In the mornings you'll find all the coffee drinkers there enjoying their morning brew and good conversation and she usually has a really good special every day for lunch.

A cup of coffee, mail a letter, have your taxes prepared, a bite to eat, groceries, thrift items, and even a 6 pack for the ball game later. All without the hustle and bustle of a big town. What more could you really want. Think about it. Are your kids really better off in the bigger areas. I know from experience. I can't wait to move my family to your town!

i think Stoutland will always been a depressed area with little or no growth but was a good place to raise my children, for until now, the School was a great small school with a decent administration and fair teachers considering its local. i think the new Superintendent and principal have done a poor job and we are losing more teachers then ever due to double standards with regards to student discipline and school policy. I hear the school's in debt almost 1/2 million dollars and there's still no action by the school board to raise taxes to bail the school out. I don't think the school will be open 2 years from now. When my kid graduates, if the school's still open, I'm leaving this town in a hurry.

The board will be trying to pass a bond to save the school. Personally, it's too late, I agree with 1team, the Administration has ruined any chance for recovery. The board was never available to listen to us (citizens) now they will try to kiss our **** in order to pass the bond. Good luck with that.

1team and tlady, you all are clueless with all the nonsense you talk.

First of all, for the first time in 5 years, the school was very close to not deficit spending. In other words they almost balanced the budget. Which is not something that has been done and is the root of many of the problems.

Also, the whole issue of double standards is ridiculous. There was more discipline in the school this year, than in years past. The Superintendent and Principal are outstanding and have done a wonderful job of just keep our doors open now.

Do not blame this administration for the problems facing the school system now. They inherited those issues and you can blame the former administration and the school board.

However, you are right that there are teachers leaving, but the administration is not the reason why. Lack of money, and lack of raises plus complete lack of funding for sports, classes, and everything else causes teachers to not want to be there. Any teacher can go to any school in the Frisco League and make more money than they do at Stoutland. The only ones staying are those that have to.

You couldn't be more wrong in your response. The school in NO UNCERTAIN terms almost balanced the budget this year! That is IMPOSSIBLE considering the state of the economy at this point in time.
Regarding the new Administration, the HS principal is leaving after only 1 year! Now, the new Superintendent will tell you it's because he was offered more money. The truth is, he was uncomfortable with the position he was being put in. As for their being MORE discipline now? On the contrary, you see, when the Superintendent allows his own step-son to swear at a teacher, embarass the school in front of another school, swear at the whole basketball team (then the very next day accompany him to one of their away games), overhear the kid saying perverted remarks to young girls.....and do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it!!!! This opens the floodgates for mischevious behavior from other students who assume it is ok to behave this way!
Some of the teachers are leaving for money, but many are leaving because of the new Superintendent and his wife. The wife is a whole other issue. I have personally seen this woman in action. Trust me, there are serious problems there. She should NEVER be allowed around children! She has even went as far as to mail threats and some typed, but not signed, hate mail to all of the parents of the members of the boys varsity basketball team!!! The worst of all is that she sent one to a female student who simply does not like the disguisting way her son talks to her! She will attend every senior trip, and on this last one, she (naturally) kept all of the food in her room. Well, when the sister of one of the boys Varsity team went into her room to eat with her classmates, she was later told that she was no longer allowed in that room. And from now on, she is to take her food and eat it elsewhere. I could go on and on, but it won't do any good. The school board doesn't care that she is harassing our children. Their children aren't being harassed because the Superintendent and wife know who to be nice to. In fact one board member said she was wonderful because she brings them cake to all of their board meetings! She also sits in on ALL of those board meetings! Right now the only thing the school board cares about is raising the tax levy to cover up their mistakes. Or trying to pass a bond that in the long run will not put a dent in the debt they have accumulated. They haven't learnt anything from their mistakes, because they are being fooled by a superintendent whom they all claim is GREAT with a budget. If they did a little research they would find that the Super and wife have over a $20,000.00 judgement against them on a Blimpies in Warsaw. Not only that, but when the court tried to notify them of this they all of a sudden didn't hear their phones or hear the sherrif ringing their doorbell. Of course they were too busy to show up for the sherrif's sale. How does the school board honestly think if a person can't run a sandwich shop,(especially honorably) that he can run a school?!
I have been around Stoutland my entire life. I have always voted in favor of the school, even if I couldn't really afford it. But I am sorry to say that as long as this new Super and his wife are hear, I will vote against a tax increase. I hate it for the children, but I don't trust the new administration to be upright and honest with what's best for our school and community.

Thank you "Sick of Drama" for explaining the truth in reference to our school. Do I need to mention (Admin & wife) the destruction they have done in the previous schools they were at before moving here? Until this administration and wife leave Stoutland, the school is in grave danger. They don't care, they will just move to the next unsuspected school while we remain with trying to pick up the pieces.**A good coach was run off by them, we have a new one, hopefully this one won't be pushed around for our kid's sakes.*
