Intentionally strangling someone to death, how does that equate to manslaughter? Shouldn't this be murder one? Our dumb laws. Go figure.!!!!!!!!!

How do you know that? Just because her husband was arrested? You need to explain yourself.

Manslaughter is an upgradeable charge given when all of the evidence test results have not been turned in, but they're more than 80% sure the culprit they have is the guilty party.

I grew up in nearby Nesconset in the 70's. What is going on out there on LI lately? Has this sort of tragic stuff been going on all along and I'm now just reading about it?!
My most sincere condolensces to her friends and family.

Passed the house last night while running errands.

I don't know who the landlord is, but this landlord is a slumlord. Didn't have a landscaper come in and mow the lawn or prune the shrubs. Left everything overgrown.

It's very close, within walking distance, to the high school she graduated from. My guess is that she probably felt safe there. It's not a bad neighborhood either.

As I passed by last night I saw News 12, Channel 7 (ABC) and Channel 2 (CBS) parked there. The house is a corner house and there is a side street right next to it and that's where they were parked. News 12 had their antenna raised and there was one other station's crew outside, a cameraman taking pictures and someone who I just assumed was a correspondent, but not sure. Some people (3) were gathered by the News 12 van talking. News 12 did a live report from there this morning.

The house faces a very well traveled road and very active shopping center.

Saw her mom on News 12 this morning and the women is beyond grief, totally wracked with pain and anguish at the loss of her little girl. Please keep her in mind before you post anymore horrible comments about her daughter. That's the last thing she needs to see.

My deepest sympathies to this poor young woman's husband, mother, family and friends. May Laura rest in peace.

Notwill - Keep praying, Jesus died many years ago and can't hear any of your desires. Stop lying to yourself, Religion is a fraud.
I hate it when people change the subject of a forum rant their own personal lunacies.

Notwill - Yes you keep praying. It's idiots like our precious Mr. Harvey here who has lost his own sense of value and self-worth that he has to put you and your beliefs down.

While I might agree that religion in itself is constantly used fraudulently, the relationship that God desires with us is evident through out Bible but repeatedly overlooked through religious teachings.

I thought the same thing, but his mother, who wouldn't give Newsday her name yesterday, said he was crying.

At first this reminded me of the Lisa Solomon case. Married 3 months and her new husband kills her.

I was wrong.
