Mexico wouldn't allow illegal immigrants into their country because they understand the damage these folks can do to a region and an economy. The fact that we are having this debate instead of building a fence to keep these invaders out, and deporting each and every one of them is the crime here.
Our crime as a people is stupidity. This kind of unchecked immigration hasn't worked at any point in history, anyplace on the globe. What in Gods name makes anyone think it can work here?
Typically, misguided liberals like Jon Cooper will support these programs because his area, Lloyd Harbor needs landscapers... and they never have to worry about illegal immigrants settling in the mansion next door. Limousine liberalism at it's best!

I fully support the bill...too bad it doesn't include a clean up sweap of all the illegal aliens hanging out in Huntington Station on New York Ave. just south of the train trussle. If you are illegal alien, you are a criminal plain and simple, and you have no rights in this country. I say, go home!

Ana Ilena Poppe from WLIM-AM is all wet with her stupid comment "People say,'Thank God George Washington doesn't live in Suffolk county,'" she said. "He didn't come with a visa." She is just trying to confuse the issue.

There is no comparision between Washington and those (latino, white, yellow, black, brown or whaterver) that come to the United States illegally. America welcomes immigrants as they are the ones that made this such a great country. The only thing asked is that they follow the law and come legally. Suffolk County officials should have the fortitude to pass the proposed legislation.

NO MAS CUCARACHAS Y RATONES

Long Island has tens of thousands of proud LEGAL people of Latino descent. This bill is to make sure that they, and any other person here LEGALLY, can make a decent wage without ILLEGALS stealing their jobs.

I can't wait for everyone screaming for this bill to be passed to realize that this law will never be enforced, and doesn't even mention how it would be enforced. Talk about a waste of time and energy. Nothing will change if this passes. And personally, I'll save my vitriol for the Americans who are too lazy to work and seek out welfare than illegal immigrants who bust their as$ for a better life. Who's the drain on society, welfare recipients milking the system or the guy standing on the street corner hoping to god he can work that day?

How, pale faces, I see you are ranting again, shame on you, if you have any. You still speak with forked-tongues, but still I ask the great spirit in the sky for his blessing upon you. By the responses here posted you show much ignorance, but then again, ignorance today prevails amomg the lot of you. Suffolk was once the land of many of the brother tribes of the east. The first ones to succumb to your early diseases and greed. I still visit my brothers on the pow-wows of the east end. When will you learn the way of brotherhood, and leave the brothers of the southern tribes live and work in peace. They have broken no laws, but the one your ancestors broke many moons ago. They were not invited to come. But they are here and deserve to be respected and welcome. Pale faces the great spirit in the sky sees everything like and eagle and hears everything like a bat, he knows what you do and say, he will torment those pale faces that do not treat his children well. Beware pale faces, your forked tongues will do you in. It will not be my doing, I am a spiritual messenger from the great spirit in the sky, I have powers to cast upon you dark spells, but I need not do that. The great spirit in the sky will bring upon you what you deserve. Leave the brothers of the southern tribes alone, they mean no harm, they will help when you are in time of need.
Gray wolf is old and has seen and hear enough of your rantings. Sleep well tonight, and wait for the next full moon.

illegal is illegal...the fact is that the millions who entered the u.s. illegal, are a FINANCIAL strain on our economy & this bill, doesn't have any basis of negativity toward their ethnicity...the proponets of the illegal immigrant, continually spin and cloud the facts to render the legal american citizen numb w/ anger. there isn't any difference between welfare leeches & the illegal immigrants; both groups breaking the law.

The Long Island Coalition for Immigration Control and Enforcement was at the meeting and spoke today. We explained to the Suffolk Legis. that since Oklahoma passed it's tough anti-illegal immigration laws on 07, unemployment has dropped from 4.1% in Dec 07 to 3.1% in Feb 07. A full point drop in 2 months is unbelievable. Their rate has not been at 3.1% since Feb 01, over 7 years. This is found at the US Dept. of Labor website.

Suffolk County is in dare economic condition WOW! people over there are fighting to take back the jobs that "illegals immigrants" have.
Let me see. Dishwashing, lawnmower, landscaping, etc.
I guess they have taken the good ones too, like doctors, lawyers, teachers, police, school administrators, village and county union jobs, mmm they are all illegals immigrants too?!!.

In Suffolk if you want a political career you just have to be against the weak aka "illegal immigrant"

The law has almost no chance of passing as Leg. Fries, a bigger weasel than Jon Cooper, came up with the novel and convenient excuse that he will not vote for the Worker Status Bill because since there is no E-Verify System. He changed his mind. Weasels like this should just have the courage to admit they are just political weasels that, like most politicians, speak out of both sides of their mouth and stand for nothing. There will be 100 million illegals competing for jobs in 10 years.

People use to mow their own lawns. No more. Lawn mower sales plummeted while illegal immigration rose.

The underground economy with all the government sponsored tax cheats are the ones who do well with illegal immigration.

People have made billions on illegal alien labor.

Time to bring down the house.

Beware those false prophets of racism baiting. If anybody is a racist it's those Hispanic radicals like La Raza and the Hempstead work place project that harbor real to goodness communists and socialists.

Much of what you say I am in agreement with but the fact is that those "lazy welfare recipients" have a legal right to be here and I personally save the vitriol for the useless politicians of both parties who allow the illegal alien anarchy to continue and escalate. They are the problem.
