She is smiling, because she knows the charges won't be, homicide, DWI, or even DUI.. the obsolute worst she can get is 7 years.. and she won't do even half of that. Unfortunately, the police didn't act quick enough. They had surveilance, which they should have obtained that same evening. And what were those headlines all about, stating how they convinced her family to speak to her and turn herself in? What were they waiting for? Exactly who does Ms. Maureen Lambert know that allowed for the police to wait days for her to turn herself in? Any alcohol or drugs which may have been in her system were all but gone by the time she walked into 4th pct. I am steamed.

I am disgusted too but not at the police . How do you even know she was home for the police to arrest or that her parents knew where she was.
I am disgusted at the fact that she just destroyed a family not to mention her own future and she thinks it's a joke .
There are so many kids around here whose values are seemingly non-existant and have no sense of reality. It's one thing to be irresponsible it's another to be scared and make a stupid decision but it's inexcusable to show no remorse. She is an disgusting animal and deserves her punishment 20 fold. God bless that little girls family.

I don't know all the facts. I read an article which said, she left the truck somewhere other than her house the night of the accident. Did that mean she was home? I don't know. The police talked to her father, who supposedly convinced her to turn herself in. Something nags at me, the knew who she was, where she lived. Also, I read tonight, she had a passenger in the car with her who is cooperating. Huh? Aren't there laws "harboring fugitive, aiding and abetting?" This passenger who is cooperating coul have called the police the same hour. Why didn't he come foreward? He had the ability to see Ms. Maureen Lambert be picked up immediately. Yes, I am mad. Someone was with her, when it happened! This is such a tragedy. The same article I read said her license was suspended. She has had other accidents, she is only 20! Her licensed should have been revoked, not suspend. I am heart broken for Courtney. Heart broken for her family. I prayed to God to take her into His arms.. to shower her with His love, to grant her peace. I can only continue to pray for her family.. peace is a long coming.

just curious, was she speeding through town? driving recklessly?
did the victim walk or run out into traffic? was the mother in front or behind her daughter?
why can't we get these facts?

I would also like to know more facts. Certainly not excusing the loser Lambert but the girl was hit "just east of Lawrence" which means the mother was most likely crossing NOT at the intersection but in the middle of that block? I never cross any part of Main Street without using the crosswalk, even when no cars are coming as far as I can see, which is rare. I patiently wait til I get the green light. The lesson to learn here is to ALWAYS cross the street in the crosswalk. Ms. Lambert, even though a proven BAD driver, would have been stopped at that intersection.

Boyfriend has a record for robbery and heroin. He just got out of SC Jail on Monday. Guy in the car wasn't her boyfriend but another young man. She's under 21 and bar hopping. Probably celebrating her boyfriend's release. Sad, now she's right where he was. Off to a wonderful start. A family is shattered and she's smiling.

I hope that white trash animal gets beaten daily in her new jail home.

When she gets out I hope there are people waiting to finish her off.

Why did her parents let her wander the streets after dark?

It does not matter who is at fault.... The fact that the driver ran, is what’s wrong here, you hit something, anything, you stop..... Her parents must know someone in the DA's office, otherwise, she would have been charged with manslaughter...

Hit and run and manslaughter are two different crimes manslaughter is intent or negligence . Can you prove either ? She is disgusting yes but we don't just make up additional crimes. I hope your never on a jury.

Been there... She hit someone and RAN, there has to be a reason to run... either she was drunk, or high or just too stupid to actually care about someone else besides herself. as far as im concerned she is negligent. you only run if you know you did something wrong... I stand by my statement......

While you beat her with a phonebook for a confession, I’ll be busy beating the parents for letting a child wander the streets at night.

OWSH,
I don't understand your post. What makes you think that the innocent child was wandering the streets at night? Did you read the articles? She was leaving the music store with her mother and brother. As horrific as it is, they were there. There was no wandering the busy streets alone.

Main Street is a busy road and all must be careful, but to even speculate that there was irresponsibility on the part of the parents is just wrong.

I wish people would read the whole story before they start accusing the parents of the child roaming the street alone...I wish the picture of the smiling women would not have been posted....this little girl is a relative to me..and nobody has any idea what this tragic event has done to us.
She was let go on bail on TG day, while the family had to suffer..this is just so wrong. They should have kept her locked up. How she can look at herself is beyond me.
I am just so angry and annoyed..this should never have happened, she should not have been allowed to drive...

Remorse goes a long way. Ms. Lambert could have at least looked remorseful, whether or not she is capable of it. My heart goes to the Sipes family. I cried out loud for them. I have an 11 year old son. I can only imagine the heartbreak they are going through.

The bitch drank all day and then went to buy heroin, then killed a child of God. She needs to be punished to the extreme,
