Do you think alcohol was involved?

It would appear that alcohol played a part in this poor choice by the driver. All things involving car indidents are by choice speeding, texting, stop signs, red lights all are by choice. No laws will stop people from making bad choices in life.

I'm sure the dead girls family will try to sue the city or CDOT. Why settle with grief for the girls stupid actions when you can get some money!!!!!!!! Come on, its the American way, sue sue sue, taxpayer money makes the pain go away.

Lets see now, wait about a week or two and see what headlines pop up in the news about the family of the dead girl filing a lawsuit claiming the bus had faulty brakes or the CDOT workers distracted her.

They'll end up with 10 million dollars then they'll do something really stupid like donate it all to the church.

You think this sounds nasty or dumb, just wait and see what happens.

I will have to sadly agree--I believe the family will try to file suit against RTD and CDOT---I just hope that poor dear didnt have children and I am glad she didnt have any in the car as well.
Thank GOD!

Wow! What bizarre comments! I am glad that I am not so cynical so as to assume that litigation will occur, or that alcohol or "poor traffic direction by CDOT" were involved.
The most obvious possibility is that she was suffering from a medical condition such as blood sugar abnormality or a mild seizure disorder, or a mental health disorder.
Having worrked as a paramedic earlier in my career, my heart goes out to the EMS (emergency) personnel and law enforcement who had to deal with the aftermath along with the hard-working CDOT personnel who had to witness this tragedy.
Let's pray for the family and her friends.

You know I must say as a driver that is out on the street ALOT I see people doing STUPID things all the time. Sorry to say, but this is what they get. Let this be a lesson to all, that the way you drive affects everyone. Plus it's a no brainer car vs. bus or any large vehicle. They can stop on a dime keep that in mind. Slow down and enjoy life as it come. Why are we all in a Rush.......

I knew this girl. And yes alcohol was involved. But she did this to kill herself!! Instead of everyone talking about how the family will sue the state, you should be praying for her family and friends!!! Some people have their nerve!!

This was indeed tragic. I am still in shock. I have nightmares of her being confused and disoriented before approaching the hwy the wrong way.
Picking up the peices and trying to plan her funeral.

She will forever be missed. Your children are supposed to out live you.

I was the mother of this woman. SHe was barely a woman just turning 21 2 months ago. Sueing will NOT bring her back. I can't believe how money hungry and synical some people can be.

The only one who really knows what was going on in her mind is her and God.

I am left with trying to accept she is gone forever.

My heart and prayers go out to this young woman and her family. We can only hope she is in His kingdom and that her family heals quickly. We can All say a prayer for the bus operator as well. This could have ended alot worse than it did. May that operator be able to sleep at night knowing that she did all that she could under the circumstances. GOD BLESS.

I am really sorry but haveing deal with suicide in my own family i feel it is the most selfish act a person can commit... Not only to the family but to those who are envolved. Wether it be by desing or purpose they think of only but them selves... There is no sympothy here.

I only hope not one or any other family has to deal with her selfishness by cost or life long engery...

I don't get why alcohol has to be a factor every time. If it was in this case, I am sorry it came to that kind of end.

However, when I was younger, I lost control of my car in a rainstorm and became disoriented. I thought I was on the right side of the highway, and I was not. There were no cars out, and I quickly realized it (if about 2 minutes into the drive counts as quickly), but that was enough to scare the wits out of me.

I hope the family can come to terms with their horrible loss. My prayers have been going out to you guys.

You are a heartless, bitter, jaded excuse for a human being. Someone died! not just a dead girl. Maybe someone you know, maybe someones daughter, maybe someones mother. Get a grip! What if someone said these horrible things about your mom? I know it's a free country to say what you want, but you are living in a horrible frame of mind that will NEVER be good for YOU! Let alone anyone that meets you or rubs you the wrong way.
