It pretty much already is like that... or damn close to it... I don't live there but I used to. I can see the OP's points though, really. Would they have that in those ppl's backyards (I'm talking about the ones who actually live right along the alley there) if it were NOT a mob run store (and possibly town), and if those ppl there were not primarily Mexicans? I'm not tryin to play the Mexican card, but , realistically though, ask yourself to picture it in another nearby town to there, say, Westchester, or Western Springs. Whoever tries to open it wouldn't even get past the first village board meeting , just like the dude who wanted to open a strip club on the Westchester-Broadview border a few months back. The ppl and the mayors practically ran him out of town on a rail man!! I always used to say ONLY in Stone or Melrose Park man....

What the name of the towns that have become havens of debauchery near St Louis? As mentioned in the message two posts up from this one.
Finding glory holes is not easy around here. Its one of my girlfriends fav fantasies to enact, so don't knock it until you've tried it.
Whether the chicagoland machine is providing gloryholes or Tony Soprano, its one less place for a Starbucks.

Would you say that about contracting an STD too?

Your girlfriend must also have a fantasy about being a ho. Ooops... too late.

I went in there today as a result of reading all this crap here. The store looked neat and organized. The guy behind the counter looked about 23 or 24 and seemed like a random dude. The Preview Booth area was private, clean and organized, but when I walked into the Arcade part there were all kinds of men just standing there like they were waiting. Were they waiting for me to come in and go into a booth with them?? All I know is that I took a look and saw ten guys staring at me and I immediately turned around and left.

At 12:30 it was packed with cars and I am sure most of those people were in that arcade part, since I only saw three people shopping, and only two preview booths were being used.

Am I too believe that those guys in the arcade part were just there waiting for some sort of sex or sex related act with anyone who showed up?

Interesting if not creepy.

they're there for sex with anonymous other males dude....... i know, i been in there and my buddy's place too, in the back rooms, or the "arcade" rather, at Galaxy or any of these places, they're lined up like it's a bus stop and they're waitng for "glory hole" action or just go in a booth with another guy. thats up to them, i dont care, the only thing is a lot of the guys who do that stuff at these places are doing it like its 1977 still...that is, they're not being SAFE, even though Galaxy and the others sell rubbers up front at the counter. You can get alot of things , POSSIBLY (if unlikely) even HIV, from giving unprotected or-l.

I must admit those fella's all must have laughed when I walked in, looked up, and then turned around and walked out stunned. I am bi-sexual, but regardless, I was stunned. I would think this place would get busted at least once a day.

And what the f*** are poppers????

The cops in Stone Park are paid off i'm sure, and the place was opened with a corrupt mobbed up mayor's ok like the OP says; that's why they don't get shut down, or at least the back rooms shut down. Poppers are little bottles of something called amyl nitrate, which is inhaled into each nostril, pumps you up, increases sex drive, and heartrate, for a few min's at least. Also causes a headache later, lol...

Yeah my cousin used to own (he since sold off) an adult novelty store in a near western burb ( I don't want to say which store and which burb but it's still a pretty well known place I'd say). Although it was never a hardcore store, with the backroom booths and all that like the ones described above, it still sold, and sells, porn. That must have made it enough of a target to get it "declared". Very similar to what poster "RealDeal" stated above in post #28 , is what ended up happening to my cousin. We're not Italian(-American), but he was not totally surprised when this occurred. It started with a kid with an Italian name applying for a job in the store. My cousin gave him a chance. After that it was like a "trojan horse". Typical old school "black hand" muscling. The kid, the new employee, his cousin(s) or whoever they supposedly were show up, and the fun begins. Might have even been the same "crew" as post #28 described, I don't know exact names (nor would I name them even if I did). But that's how this works.

The adult bookstore / novelty store owners or operators are not always the "bad guys" in and of themselves (after all, porn shops are a fully legal business in this country, like them or not), but they are preyed upon by "connected" guys whose crew bosses "declare" places as "theirs" and then demand the owner "render unto Caesar" (as my cousin was told). They are preyed upon because they run a highly vulnerable business (more vulnerable than restaurants), second only to illegal enterprises such as video poker machines or "escort services", very similar to the way restaurant owners used to be in the more distant past (like in the 50's or 60's under the "old" Mob).

This is a rewrite.

Yeah my older cousin used to own and run a popular adult novelty shop (not a hardcore shop like the ones being described above) in a near western burb. He's since sold it but it's still there under new ownership. He experienced very similar to what poster "RealDeal" describes in post #28 above. It started with one guy , an Italian(-American) kid applying for a job. So my cousin hired him. But he was like a "trojan horse". Shortly thereafter, his cousins, or associates or whoever they were, began arriving daily to "talk to" my cousin, the store's rightful owner. Typical old-school "black hand" tactics. Who knows it may even have been the same "crew" as post #28 describes. I wouldn't name names even if I remembered any, but, sure sounds familiar.

Point is, the owners / operators of businesses like adult book / novelty shops, or (legit) strip clubs, are not always (probably not even usually) the "bad guys". But they are preyed upon by "crews" who "run" the given area(s) at the given time. The bosses, or whatever, actually "declare" places as their own, and then street tax is simply a must for any owner who wants to keep himself and his business (even his family) safe and sound. This happens because adult store owners, or strip club owners, etc, are in businesses that are highly vulnerable to this kind of activity, much the way restaurants in the old "neighborhoods" used to be 40, 50 yrs ago.

That's what they get for opening a sleazeball porn pushing / backroom BJ shop. How can they sit there, like in this Chicago "family secrets" trial somebody else mentioned, and whine about how they got extorted??? Dont want to deal with that element??? Heres a thought: open a more upstanding socially responsible business!!! Then you wont have predatory greaseballs taking pieces out of your profit!!! Simple, nuff said!!!

Does anyone know the towns on the Illinois side of St.Louis/Mississippi river that have become a haven of debauchery like the Galaxy? Mentioned in the post on may 31st by Who Cares above. I'd like to check these out. I'll report back, if I find out the stores and towns where this activity occurs. We must stay informed!

I don't live in Stone Park but I frequent the shopping center on Mannheim Road which is not far from Galaxy. The store is in a residential area and I have seen kids in the store parking lot, many times UNATTENDED KIDS mind you.

Here is my 2 cents on the Galaxy issue: here is an adult establishment with high traffic near a residential area. Why oh why if the residents of the area know the nature of the business, the kind of clientel, and the goings on of the business, are they letting their kids run and play unattended near the store? Where the hell are these parents at? Or the caretakers if that is the case? Makes me wonder if the kids are being left alone all day...
I am not for or against the business because I don't live in the area and the business personally is not affecting me. But as a mother it pisses me off to see these children running around the parking lot or riding their bikes in the alleys near the store. I can't imagine where the hell these kids' parents are...they certainly are not keeping an eye on their kids that's for sure.

Let's face it, Galaxy isn't going anywhere folks. If people are so afraid for their kids' safety, kee them in a safe place to begin with: like at home or take them to places where they are not exposed to the business of Mannheim Road. Not only do we have Galaxy to think about, there's the Play Pen (aka Pig Pen), the Mannheim Bookstore, Noa Noa, Bobby's Bar, and etc. etc. These are businesses, shady or not but they are there and have been there for many years. Mannheim Road has been the gateway for adult entertainment way before any of us were born.

So for those who are so worried about the safety of the kids in Stone Park, step up to the plate and be vigilante with your children...don't let them run loose in the streets, pay attention to them.

Face it, The Galaxy is not gonna go anywhere, It has the right to be there just as much as the Taco stands and Laundrymats do. As for the people who allow their kids to roam the streets and ride their bikes in the parking lot unsupervised.. What do you expect from ignorant Brazers! The population of Stone Park is mostly illegal wetbacks, who's very existance in the area is driving down property taxes and driving crime up. Before long Stone Park will become just another "Julio-ville" like Melrose Park is becoming, with a Taqueria and Liquor Store on every corner. The Galazy should be the last thing on residents minds, it should be the influx of illegal wetbacks who are seeping into the city and stealing jobs, welfare benefits, and anything that is not nailed down! They are the real criminals in this town and they are the ones that the police need to focus on instead of whats going on at the Galaxy.

Everytime I go to an area where children are playing unattended wherever they damn well please, they end up being MEXICAN. Why these families don't watch their children, or care for them is beyond me, but don't bring yourselves and them here just to run amok and make USA go AWAY!

Since when did we turn into MEXICO!!! Pisses me off

They are too busy trying to rip off the system and avoiding immigration to pay attention to their kids. To a typical Mexican family, the children are nothing but tax deductions, there is little to no love or concern for the well being of their children.

Ok...so when did we change the forum from Galaxy Video to Mexican immigration?

But the last two posts do make a point...most of these kids are HISPANIC, not necesarily Mexican.
