I have a source that told me that village employee checks recently have bounced and the Village pension fund is nearly solvent. To make matters worse the fire trucks can not be properly maintained due to no money. This is a serious problem brought on by the corrupt administration that runs Stone Park. The village, being mostly Mexicans, should stand up and throw out these clowns and elect one of there own who at least will understand there problems. If this continues, Stone Park will become bankrupt and will have to incorporate into Melrose Park or Northlake. Both have said no to taking over the Fire Department so this is some serious stuff. Just a little heads up....

So the mayor has done GOOD for the community? Are you talking about all the new homes he constructed in the town? The homes that he depleted the village funds to build and now can't sell. Ironic how his sister is a realtor and he has other family members in construction who were all given the contracts to build those homes. So let's see in the process of doing good he bankrupted the village, increased taxes by 15% and talks about closing down the Fire Department because they can not afford it. Lord knows what else heís done or wants to do. Sure the streets are clean; he pays illegals for cheap labor to be public works employees. He has every one of you Mexicans fooled with his cool sign and spectacular fireworks, but you have no idea what goes on behind the iron curtain. So before you praise him, get the facts STRAIGHT. Next time you see him ask about his Mexican girl friend whose brother he made into an auxiliary cop. Ask him who else in his family and friends circle are auxiliary cops. Donít forget that heís arming these guys, who are possible criminals to serve and protect. Pretty soon whatís left of the Latin Kings will be wearing badges and upholding Mazzullaís Law. Ask about the new police station and where the money for it went. Maybe he was straight at first, but you know damn well the power got to him. Now heís as crooked as the leaning tower of Pisa. Corruption makes me sick. It needs to stop and be stopped. Wither it be the FBI, a new election or the wrath of God. It needs to be stopped in Stone Park. Close down the glory hole adult bookstore full of perverts, child molesters and pedophiles. Stop the bikini parties at the bars. Stop entrapping motorists with your SOAP scam. But wait you canít. You need all the kick backs. Stop juicing this town dry. A lot of good people live here. Ben I hope you change your ways. At what expense are you willing to go for this greed? You're whole empire is crumbling down. Tragic and true.

I forgot to add that the city is trying to sell bonds to raise the money but no one wants to touch that because if the town goes bankrupt then the bonds are worthless.

Not really new news here! LOL I've been working in this town full time for about 15 years now since the old mayor went to jail for corruption and mismanagement of village funds eg. the purchase of the shabby motel/apartment building where the new "stone park bank" currently resides. A little crap town like this has there own 'bank'??? It's a big bank too! lol
When Bennie first came into office I admit that I thought there was gonna be some change. He was rebuilding the street corners and rebuilding the parks for the kids etc. etc. Then the village goes and starts buying up the industrial properties along north ave. and 32nd for hope of building a mall, then it was going to be a gas station-that fell through and then a restraunt was going in-that didn't happen. Their last big business in the town just moved out last year with the buildings still for sale. Who wants to buy a property in the town when it's got a TIFF rating for that whole square block and nothing happening? The property taxes are extremely high and the tax spending is nowhere to be found. The frontage road is really bad and has been for years, but the town forced several business there with a mandatory blacktop requirement for the front of their businesses that the village sure as hell did'nt pay for! The new village hall sign was changed constantly for about 4 years and has yet to happen. The one large area that the village did get rid of was in their business industrial area where business was working and the town was collecting property tax etc. The large empty lot is a barren wasteland now and has been for years! The village and who-knows are using it as a dumping ground for "crap" like old ashphalt, wood and lots of garbage. There's a new shell station and carwash going up just accross the way from there! Too little, too late. The town has always been mismanaged. I agree that the towns people should elect one of their own to possibly set things straight in a community that really needs help. Perhaps the politics of today can hopefully be replaced by the real people of the commmunity that know the community. Thank you.

Those of you in all the comments above, have no clue. You just like to shoot off your big mouths. We don't need your kind anywhere around here.

I guess that's why things have gotten so bad is nobody believes it or wants to believe it.

Well then "you wish" give us a clue then if you're so smart. I'd love to know the real truth before I go and get the public information from the county finance department.
Please....just one clue as to what really is going on here in this town. I'm shootin off my big mouth cause it's from my point of view. If I could hear from the other side "the town" on what's really going on, i'd love to hear it! I didn't mean to come off as "angry" or anti-stone park, it's just my opinion on what I see and what I feel about it. There's so much potential for this town and I honestly would love to see it suceed and increase it's tax base, grow and improve. Why are'nt we privy to what's really goin on in the town and exactly why is it in bad shape? The only one that really knows that is Mayor Mazulla and his village board. Just let us know the clues and i'll shut my "big mouth". Simple.

It's a shame that your source doesn't know the real story. Stone Park is very small and is not going bankrupt. There was a rough patch for a few days but you can thank effing Stroger for that mess. Many, many towns were affected by his half ass ways. Do your homework before you run your mouth and sound so stupid. As other towns how their finances are because of that Stroger mess.

If you are sooo great, why don't you start contacting businesses to go to Stone Park. Why don't you channel some of that anger and do some good for your community and fellow man.

Guess you didn't realize that the economy pretty much sucks these days. You do realize that the State audits every village, right? Are you going to say now that the Governor is corrupt to when it comes to Stone Park.

I do have one question for you all. If Stone Park is so bad, why do you care? Why are you sitting on a computer about something you don't care about? Why get your panties in a bunch over such a small town?

Did something not go your way? Are you upset because things didn't go as you planned? Did the Feds come pay you a visit or stick your ass in the State Penn? What's the deal? You guys really need counseling. It's kind of sad. I just don't understand why you waste valuable time on something you don't care about.

I don't like football but you don't see me getting all huffy for no reason crabbing about the players that are super rich just because they can throw a football, right?

I don't believe I was getting "HUFFY". Just stating what a source, A very high source, was saying. If the FBI visits anyone, they'll reside in SP. I'm sure businesses would love to go to SP but maybe they can't afford the "extra tax". As far as the governor goes, of course he's corrupt and that's going to show up in the Redzco trial.

The die was cast yrs and yrs ago for this town. You had the Outfit in here for ages now. You had Natale, in the early 90's, taking 5 g's (that is all it took , a lousy 5,000 dollars) to allow a permanent business to get lodged in here, right on Mannheim Rd, in the backyard of some of our homes, that brings potential sex deviants into our town. Many or most that come here for that place don't live here, that's for sure.
The guy who owns and operates the place, Mob associate Joe Annecca, lives in OakBrook and drives a big Benz. Nice, right? While they cr_p all over SP with the blessing of former mayor Natale (along with the help of Tommy Tucker , Lt.Tucker's husband), and the Mazzulla regime has if anything left it all in place, probably taking kickbacks from there as well. Why wouldn't they?
They had their tow truck scam going on for how long? Their notorious Blue Dolphin car wash fake prostitution "sting" -- actually an extortion scam for the broke village to make extra money, basically.
I'm sorry to say this, but as an Ital-American myself, these ones who run SP and have helped ruin it, are an embarrassment to our ppl and help further stereotypes about us that some (like the OSIA, etc) always love to complain about. Well, sadly (I was born there so I can truly say this) there are at least kernels of truth in every stereotype and ours is no exception. Whenever you see the nicer cars, the sports cars or whatever, pulling into Galaxy , and they have that little Italian flag on the back, they're usually "connected" guys coming in for a "visit" (or probably to collect $$ of some sort).
It's PATHETIC that this is on our town's main stretch, walking distance from the PD. This town is a laughing stock to other towns and we wonder why. It's a shame and then some.

I guess "you wish" still doesn't have any clues for us in this town. Stop blaming others like stroger for 1 towns screw ups. It's always easier to blame someone else. Stroger doesn't write the checks in stone park. Having a business is bad in stone park because of the taxes. They raised the sales tax here even before "raising taxes" became popular! lol Why does any town raise taxes? Cause the money isn't there for "some reason"? Hmmm...? Where did it go? I think Neno is right, Natale and annecca are still collectin and for what exactly? Somebody got screwed a long time ago and the town is still payin the debt i guess. lol
All crap aside though, stone park is like any town in America. There's room for improvement and hell yeah I'd love to see it improve. Things happened years ago that really took a wrong turn (natale) and the town is really paying for those mistakes. It's really F'in sad and i hope that I can get out of here soon!
