Does anyone know if there are any resorts left on this lake? Also, there used to be a campground at the former location of Pine Ridge Resort.
I was last at the lake in the early 90's and stayed at the Black Mallard Resort.

Black Mallard is closed. Pine Ridge is no longer a resort or campground but the restaurant is still open. A Campground operates about 1 mile from the former Black Mallard on Sissabagama Road. It has changed hands and changed names many times but it is still in operation.

The owners of Pine Ridge Resort have
started a rental business and have a list of properties that can be rented on

I would suggest the New Mountain Bed and Breakfast located on the south end of the lake.

Anyone looking for good, clean cottages at a reasonable rate on Big Sissabagama Lake, check out Vee's Musky Blvd on the north shore. My family & I used to go to Big Chetek, but since discovering Vee's, we are regular customers. The owners are so helpful and want everyone to have a great vacation. Just call Gene & Sandy; they'll help you with that perfect vacation! Also have a neat, relaxing seasonal campground; it's the best!

My wife and I had rented a cabin on Big Sis and were on the lake with our rented pontoon when the motor quit. What a dilema and who to call. Couldn't reach the people we'd rented from. Then we remembered, we had often stayed with Gene & Sandy at Vee's Resort(wish we had this time)So we called the resort and Sandy answered. It was so great to hear her voice! We explained our situation and Sandy told us to relax, she'd send someone to rescue us asap. Within 15 minutes a pontoon from Vee's arrived and towed us to shore.
No one will ever know how much we appreciated being helped that day. From now on we will stay at Vee's and no where else. Thanks for the help, Gene & Sandy - you are the best!
