Stokes County NAACP Head Arrested

The head of the Stokes County NAACP has been arrested for sex crimes, including statutory rape and incest.

Has anyone heard if any action has been taken by the Stokes NAACP?

I google searched his name and found where he spoke up for Barry Conaway when he was fired from his job as Walnut Cove's Police Chief. I doubt Barry will return the favor now that Sharon is running for town commissioner. Something tells me that sex criminals don't look too good on the list of a candidate's supporters.

How petty can a person be to take the NAACP situation and add an individual who has nothing to do with this in it.... Wow people are Petty..... Please dont take a serious crime and turn it into your own issue.. This is from a person who has been attacked before and its not something to take lightly... Sex crimes are no joking matter!

I don't debate that this is a very serious issue. I am appalled, and especially saddened for the victims. I am also appalled however, that we have a candidate for town commissioner in Walnut Cove who cavorts with this individual, who just last year got up and made a public speech in support of her husband. Also there are rumors that Mr. Lash had an arrangement with her husband to keep some of his other crimes quiet while her husband was police chief. So yes, it is a very serious crime with very serious implications, but this man's dealings and relationships can have very serious impacts for the town if this woman is elected.

This is a very sad chapter for Walnut Cove, the black community and the Stokes County NAACP. We are all very embarrassed. I hope that people don't judge us, our county, or our organization for this man's actions.

I would agree with what you are saying but since this IS such a serious crime........ There will be an investigation and if he has anyone that has helped him it will come out. So lets not start throwing names around no matter who's name it is please.
