the real show was the fat people watching the parade, covered in tatoos. Those people should wear more clothes, not less.
That's who lives here. GE retirees, scared of losing everything as the city goes down the potty.

Wow you people are very negative. I didn't even really watch the parade I just walked around. The first band was good. And so weren't all the others. ALL of the floats were well put together that I saw. (I walk up from outter south street early so I do get to see them all lined up.) all the people I came in contact with were civil and I simply said no thank you to the solicitation attempts of the parade comitee and political leeches. All in all it was a great day.

I think the parade committee should get some judges that can really judge the musical talent of the musical unit participating in this great parade. The best was not even mentioned in the top three - shame on whomever for selecting such inept judges of musical talent.

Agreed. Also, didn't hear many of the bands while watching the parade on tv. I think the coverage was not up to par - too many bands went by without playing.

Thanks to the many selfless volunteers of the Parade Committee - many of the mishaps were not your fault. And the BMC float ???????? Did that really win an award????

People are negative because they know what the parade used to be like. (It actually had marching bands that were great.) As for the floats, just about every entry gets an award of a different title.

First, I'd like to thank the parade committee for the work they did in putting the parade together.

While the heat prevented me from attending (breathing issues) I did catch it on tv. That said, I agree with some of the other posters who had issue with the coverage. There seemed to be a disconnect with what was being aired and what was being talked about. I don't know if the problem was the pace of the parade, the announcers caught up in some of their "witticisms" that they lost sight of what they should have been commenting on, the location of the commentators or some of the bizarre camera angles (did we really need to view pavement?) that made it frustrating to watch. I understand there were challenges this year due to the reconfiguring of Park Square and maybe the kinks can be worked out for next year's parade.

That said, I really don't have a problem with all the fire engines. Or the cars. I don't get into them but I don't have a problem with them. I thought one of the most creative displays in the parade was the balloon dragon.
