Any stories about Elohim City? Does anybody actually know somebody who lives there?? All I know is what I find on the net and it isn't good. I drove by there a few times last month. Loved the dome homes and the dome school being built but I didn't dare stop as I am not white enough. If they want to live with like minded people, it's OK with me.

If they wanted to get far enough away from people, they sure have picked a far enough place to hide and hide whatever they want to hide and who they want to hide.

Sanity and religion go about as good together as oil and water. Never been there but always wanted to go.

It isn't hard to find. I used the yahoo map sevice and once that got me lost hit and near the store near Belfont???. Those people told me the way. Something about a yellow bridge?? turn left and keep going.. I didn't stop at EC but the place is nice looking, sort of hippy with killer dome homes on either side of the road and the dome school being built.. I drove past and turned around and went out of there to drink a beer at Big Lee Creek, it was a good trip.

what?, no tanks, rednecks with shotguns in the road? Hell, i thought it might be a fun little road trip, what you people are describing is a KOA Kampgound gone wild, nothing interesting about that.

OOOOO, I know what were talking about now. At first I had no idea "Elohim City"???????
I remember now, I totally forgot about that place. I went there once when I was younger , now i'm wondering if I was on a gun/drug run??? It was right around the McVee bombing too just remember seeing normal looking people...I remember seeing a huge outdoor open kitchen..

I went there once back in the nineties with my boyfriend. We were just going to drive by and look at the buildings but his truck broke down. A couple of the guys from the compound came out to see what we were doing out there. They had guns but seemed friendly. I was still kind of freaked out because I'm mixed enough not to look white but my boyfriend was white. They brought a vehicle to jumpstart our truck. Unfortunately, my boyfriend had left his truck in gear (it had a manual transmission). One of the Elohim City guys was standing between the two truck grills and kind of got his leg squished. I was scared to death. He refused our offer to take him to the doctor. The other guys, his sons, looked kind of aggravated but the didn't say anything, they just helped him into the truck.

McVey did spend time there many years ago. The guy who started it, Robert Millar, died a few years ago, and I understand its not what it was under his rule. In addition to a strong hand, he had several wives. I've heard they meet people with guns, but I do that myself if they come to my house after dark and I don't know them. The rural areas are rough here, and the law is along way off. I expect a person could get shot there, but I don't know that you are any more likely to get shot there if you get caught without permission than you would be in most of Adair County. I would not be afraid to go to the front gate or front office there, but I would not want to be caught on the grounds without permission....ditto in alot of law abiding citizens yards.

Lots of white rednecks but they are everywhere in adair county anyways and half the NDNs are rednecks too. And yes it does look like a KOA campground

I reckon they do for the right"white" type of person.. let me know how it is there.. Since I am a "mud person" to them, I'll never set foot there
