Is it a good place to work? I have been there as a patient several times over the years and it seems like a less stressful environment than most IHS/tribal clinics that I have seen.

Well why wouldn't it? You got a bunch of people that don't care about doing their job, and are unprofessional to the limit, if not past.
I'm sure i'll get alot of bull from some that don't like what I'm saying, but about 10% Maybe, care about their job, and taking care of patients, the rest only care about a paycheck. That pretty much sums it up, so please by all means, try to get on. Maybe you can make a difference.

Well I for one will never use that facility and I am even a broke Indian. All they every diagnose anybody with is a sinus infection. "Back Pain, oh thats just a sinus infection", "paralyzed on one side, aww, another sinus infection"

I disagree. If you go in and are thorough with your symptoms and explain everything. They'll get it right. Lol

But some are there for the check and a few that care about people. I'd rather go to the clinic than Memorial Hospital.

I know of a guy who recently died after going there for treatment and they kept telling him nothing was wrong with him, Ended up he had cancer and by the time he got real treatment it was to late. That my friends is the truth. They did NOTHING to help him and they LET him die.

They have some good drs but for most part all they know is sinus infection and they wont listen to u. Dr. Turner and Vicki Love are two great Dr. They will listen to u and not just pass u by and careless what u have to say. Dr Murea (sorry spelled wrong) she is good also. As for a good place to work as a past employee NO NO NO RUN FAST. Its stressful because if u do ur job right upper management makes it hard on u. Or use to but since new management it may be different

Helllooo??? V. Love is not a DOCTOR!! Duh, she's a wanna be.. She told someone I know that is 100% diabetic, that they were cured, by a miracle, and didn't need insulin anymore! It was a elderly person she told that too, she even stopped the insulin script.
thank goodness the patient, and I, knew better than that, and sought help elsewhere.
As for the comment from another, about "you get what you pay for"
Alot of people do pay for their services, Through insurance,
you pay insurance, and then they bill your insurance...Although paying for medical care, or unable to pay for medical care
IS NO EXCUSE for poor medical attention. You go in with a tooth ache, and they'll give you depression med. that's how f'cked up they are.

I take my kids there and they always do a good job with them. The only time I ever got frustrated was when my son had an ear infection and a blockage of wax and as they were trying to clear that out (with a weird water thing) my son started freaking out, he's 2, and the nurse just quit.... Only problem Ive ever had. We see a doctor's assistant alot, I think his name is Jody, whether that's his first or last name I have no clue. He's always very professional, but nice and empathetic to the kids, wonderful guy.

Incognito2 is correct, V Love is a wanna be. Do they even have Real MD Doctors there? Anytime you go there, the nurses send you to the nurse practioners and they diagnois you. I don't think I would want them telling me what is wrong with me even if I actually explain all the correct symptoms.

You couldn't pay me money to go there anymore. But I feel for the people who have no other choice but too.

I have to say I never used the clinic until my meds were so ourtrageous I could no longer afford them. And as far as Dr.Turner goes what a joke that man is. And they made him medical director as far as I am conserned he is the worst one there and there is no one to complain to cause he is the one the complaints go to.
I believe they get there doctors from people who are retired or no longer need to practice because all they do is prescribe medicine after medicine for there patients.
Has anyone every gone in there and got a diagnosis or a correct diagnosis from them without them sending you somewhere else ?

i hear what you all are saying, but at least you can go to the doctor and have done what needs to be done, so of us who dont have insurance; are not able to go and have test ran at the hospital, unless you have the full price of the test up front, a simple x-ray is $250.00. Maybe you dont have the best of doctors but you do have something

Don't feel too bad. Even though Cherokee Nation had the best of intentions when choosing to name the clinic after Wilma, the clinic's name has caused many a chuckle over the years. I think some people have become more sensitive about it since Wilma passed.
