Anything over $50,000.00 for the four highest listed townships is too much salary.

This entire article is bogus. It says that the city's 40,434 residents pay for these salaries. NO, only the HOME OWNERS are paying for these salaries. I find the data to be flawed because they're using an inaccurate population size to claim what the actual cost is. The ACTUAL COST is more than likely higher, because again, only the HOME OWNERS who pay property taxes and school taxes are being taken advantage of.
I get so sick and tired of hearing you dummies complain that you are the only one that pay taxes because you own a damn home! Anyone who pays rent to a landlord "INDIRECTLY" pays both property tax as well as school taxes.....or did you forget when the Landlord raises his or her rent to cover those increases in the good ole taxes by the city and school district uh yeah the tenant pays that increase.....stop belly aching and realize you aren't the only one who pays something!

Thats funny, but don't ALL working residents in York City pay 1% of their income to the locality they live in?? Half to the city, the other half to the school district.
And landlords may pay the taxes, but they get the money out of the rent they charge, so renters are paying taxes also - in a roundabout way.....
THANK YOU FOR STATING THE OBVIOUS....some people dont read what they write......everyone pays taxes in some shape form or fashion if they work!!!

no one that is funded by the taxpayer should make more than what the taxpayers average is . these "servants" should never make more than those paying them . if the servants are looking for higher pay , the unprotected private sector always has openings , but they know they could never make it on their own ! a lot of overhead needs to be eliminated in all sectors of local , state and federal government . it use to be they were there for us ... remember that ?

Yeah but property owners pay more than non-property owners. We're kind of tired of it too. Get excited about that 1%, we pay that too plus property taxes. Sure, maybe landlords pass that onto the renters, but only a percentage of it. Then there is the section 8 housing. Do you think the folks there are paying ANYTHING towards property taxes?
