The police get real upset when you drive on the shoulder in a traffic jam. Why are there different rules for driving on the shoulder?

This accident was horrible and sad for all parties. The girl who you say Damian killed someone has to live with that for the rest of her life.Prison....really.....she hasn't been charged for anything.Again they called this a collision between Bike and car. Pay attention next time you drive and notice that the white line aka...shoulder has no breaks so everytime you turn into a store you cross the white line and EVERYONE does that. The girl slowed down had her blinker on and was not driving 40mph...Thats just what the police said the speed limit for the road was.....Make sure your children have helmets and reflectors on their bikes...especially while driving at night!!God rest the boy and please have compassion for all the parties in the accident. Please hope and pray that you are not faced with such tradgedy in your life.

Damien...seriously? It was an ACCIDENT!!! There were no drugs, alcohol or even a phone involved. She was negligent by driving some distance on the shoulder but there was no intent to harm let alone kill. The boy had no light on his bike and had dark clothes on so it was extremely difficult to see him. Eileen is right, the girl has to live with this the rest of her life which is punishment enough but she definitely does not deserve to go to jail.
