Skamania County shooting case leaves ruin in 'a scintilla of evidence'

There are 3 comments on the The Oregonian story from Mar 13, 2010, titled Skamania County shooting case leaves ruin in 'a scintilla of evidence'. In it, The Oregonian reports that:

Each time Craig Sjoberg returns to the Skamania County Superior Court in Stevenson, Wash., the inscription behind the bench reminds him, "Justice is truth in action." Given what he's endured the past 16 months, you can forgive the Vancouver schoolteacher for thinking the court is mocking him.

Sometimes the law is not just blind but stupid. DAs are like rabid pitbull dogs. Once they bite something, they will never let go until a judge beats them to death with a gavel. Innocence is no defense with insane DAs.

Our dear poster, Tory 2, hates cops. Perhaps he should move his anger a little further up the food chain?

The state will lose this one, BIG TIME!
Quote from the article:
"That scintilla? Sjoberg was in Skamania County when Cortez died. Sjoberg admitted to discharging his rifle and "all known firearms within the area were excluded" (my emphasis). What's more, Lanz notes, everyone else who was known to be hunting in the area that day said they didn't do it."
So what?
Sjoberg says he didn't do it either.
Did the state collect evidence from the other hunters that day? No? Why not?
Did they analyze the bullet fragments found at the scene?
Did those match the rifling of the barrel of Sjoberg's gun?
This is just another reason why citizens should NEVER talk to the police, or anyone else for that matter.
Lesson learned: NEVER talk to the police. Ever.

Never forget that every police dept is a bureauacracy that can sweep any person into it and swallow you and consume you for life (innocent or guilty). A single cop can become your worst lifelong nightmare.

Never forget that most cops are not experts at anything. A police dept simply knows more than others about policing. And, get this, the police depts with the most training, experience, and the most resources, can be the one with the biggest, deepest bureauacracy.

Craig Sjoberg has one thing on his side: the govt must prove his guilt and it must prove he's guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Govt is always our worst enemy. Make govt your servant, not your master.
