There is no such thing as a tax cut. And they didn't work in our past. They are a smoke screen for more bond sales to foreigners. Just like Reagan and the Bush father and son act. Just another Republican/conservative/TEA Party/wingnut bag of tricks and lies. Only one that wins is the Madoff types.

the BEST thing to happen to America & the Repubs since the highly successful 'contract with America' in the 80's that brought the U.S. out of jimmy carter's horrible mess!

even dumbocraps are urging the continuation of the highly successful Bush tax cuts - but instead presidunce odumba wants to RAISE taxes on everyone with his hellcare & raise all small business taxes!

it will keep small business from hiring millions - & it will put millions more Americans in the odumba unemployment lines!!!

More warmed up failed policies of the Bush administration. It's the same crap they have spouting for 30 years,"trickle down Reaganomics" an utter complete failure, unless your an insurance company, bankster or financial institution.

A "pledge to America". Sounds all nice and sweet, patriotic and honest. Nothing could be further from the truth. The contract was written by a John Boner staffer who used to be a lobbyist until April of this year, among his "old" clients and compensation: Exxon-Mobile:$1.3 Million. Comcast:$1.1 Million. Andarko Petroleum:$800.000. AIG:$740,000. Pfizer Pharmaceuticals:$625,000. Who is is this contract going to look out for? The wing-nuts make it seem like it's going to be you. www.inewscatcher.com/2010/09/pledge-to-americ...

Republicans should focus first on securing
the border and fixing the 14th. Instead, it
seems they want to go straight for the
what little crumbs the working class
managed to secure under the Democrat
majority. More plutocracy.

This is why America should get serious
about a third party.

It's a start. Would have preferred a bipartisan agreement to balance the budget

I think the tax cuts are an excellent first step. The next is to de-fund/stop ObamaCare. Has the government ever done anything efficiently with our money? SS? Medicaid? Postal ?...Stop regulating, taxing, and otherwise hindering the American Dream. Minimal government. Just get out of the way of the U.S. worker. Given half a chance, he/she will build, invent, evolve, prosper, grow, and create jobs and prosperity. Keep taxing us and our grandchildren and all the jobs will be outsourced to foreign countries and our fate will be sealed.

Exxon-Mobil is a wonderful company.

I can't imagine how much poorer our lives would be without their products.

No car, no trucks, no plastics.

It really puzzles me why liberals hate a commodity that is so necessary to our lives.

There is no 'Balancing the Budget', we are 31 trillion in debt, when the corporate-bonds reach maturity in 2011 that bubble will be the mother of all bubbles...

There is no 'Recovery', only starting over, what is necessary is an 'Official-Language' for the U.S., and , a currency backed by gold and silver...

With that done, the citizens will be able to thrive & prosper...

Too funny. You are serious? I'm sure a lot of things "puzzle" you. A contract with (on)America written by a lobbyist?

I'm very serious.

Oil is one of the most important discoveries in world history.

It has led to a higher standard of living and more scientific progress than anyone could have imagined 150 years ago or apparently even today among liberals who should know better but obviously don't.

$1.3 Million to one lobbyist? Definitely a higher standard for him.$1.3 Million that could open a fuel station or two but they paid him instead to lobby politicians. Contract with America(n) Corporations.

so where are all the jobs created by the bush tax cuts? the only reason we regulate is because if we didn't, a laborer's on the job mortality rate would go ballistic as corporations put profits before people. and the republican advocacy for lowering taxes is just another way for them to say, "concentrate more of your money in to our hands"; that's what the repubs are all about: where the democrats want to "spread the wealth", the repubs want to "concentrate the wealth" (which would be ok if it didn't hurt those who can't make ends meet)
