"could be a deliberate strategy on China's part." Well, DUHHHHH!!!!
Sadly not a soul in Washington, DC has the intestinal fortitude to say anything, but yes we will close more businesses and send the work you you. I mean we are now a Third World Natrion that cannot even make clothes and shoes for our population. The fact that the Chinese are owed over $50 trillion dollars from America and they are buying America up at an unprecedented rate. Our self serving "elected" have approved the sale of defense contractors to China. Soon they will even replace our military industrial machine with "MADE IN CHINA" and will will no longer be a world power. We will be learning Chinese.
just an allusion

After a review of the incident, the evolving situation as a result thereof, and the ever deteriorating inter-personal/business dynamic due to China's demonstrated inability to properly police it's own internet provider(s), despite it's publicly professed ability to do just that, it is my opinion that Google should withdraw all of it's commitments &/or interests from the Chinese market as participation there is only serving to further strengthen the Chinese-based "hacker" contingency's ability to infiltrate and corrupt Google's technology and America's internet infrastructure as a result.

You do not feed the hungry by cutting off your own arm and serving it to them.
