I went to KJCC graduated and accomplished everything I attended to and more: The program has and been going down hill since 2006,all programs that were worth while has been cut: Volunteer work, working, art, and trips all have been cut out of the budget: Kittrell Job Corps is deny many funds from the state and the goverment can't or wont put any money towards this center since out of all the Job Corps, Kittrell Job Corps is the LOWEST on the list of Effiecancy and Graduate rates

The teachers and Staff do not care about the students, they wait on their paycheck and sometime do not even bother to show up to their classes. The employees work there only because the center is desperate for workers and will hire ANYONE: there was a supervisor there who slept with the female students, got fired and RE-hired the same month.

I DID have one teacher who was amazing, I am not sure if he still works there: William Boykins, he is also a pastor.

The kids there are rude, distgusting and come from rough/disturbing backgrounds, there is sexual activey that goes on EVERYDAY and there are not activives for the kids to enjoy: The trips are postpone or cancelled 9 times out of 10.

When parents go to visit or pick up there kids there are students in the waiting lobby talking horribly about the kids so the parent can hear them and get a bad impression of their child.

If you or your child thinks about going to Kittrell Job Corps center, think twice: I accomplished everything I wanted to and more but my experience was horrible and I regret signing up and completing some of my education there

Hi, I attended KJCC after graduating high school.I loved it! My trade was Business Clerical, I went to the local college through jobcorp and graduated with an A.A.S degree in Business Administration. I received clothing allowances, was paid bi-weekly and also went on great trips. I even worked at KJCC for 3 years and I recommend it to anyone. My advice to people considering it is you need to know what you want to accomplish while you are there and you will achieve it through jobcorps.
I am wondering what year you when to KJCC and what type of student you fit into: You must work as an employee because your post is inacccurate, do not post misleading infomation this can help or harm parents and potential students

There is NO Business Clerical (No such thing) at KJCC so be accurate or stop misinforming:

the program listed has also been cut Retail sale USED to be a class you could take it has be CUT and added to Bussiness Technology

I would advise all the potential students to go and give it your best shot, and stop looking for the negavtive parts. I believe if someone has something that you want then you have to earn. It is like respect

Maria, you don't have to go out of the US for Job Corps. The person that told you that may have been thinking about Peace Corps, which is out of the country.

As for KJCC, from what I've heard, it has changed a lot from when I was a student. I was there from 2003-2006. I went to turn my life around, and at first I got caught up in all the drama and got in a lot of trouble. I was almost terminated within my first 5 months, and that's when I realized that I needed to get myself together and try to accomplish something. I completed a trade and went to college for an AA to transfer. The semester before I graduated, they helped me to apply to universities as a transfer student. Because of my grades at VGCC (the local community college that I attended as a KJCC student) and achievements at KJCC (student council, volunteering, tutoring, etc), I was accepted at every university where I applied with large scholarships. I recently graduated with my BA and am now working on my MA. If I hadn't gone to KJCC, I wouldn't be where I am today.

My point is that Job Corps is what you make of it, no matter where you go and no matter what is going on at the center. Everyone's experience is different. It depends on what you want, what you are willing to put up with, how hard you work, and what goals you set for yourself. No matter what is going on at the center, whether it is the students or staff, keep your goals in mind.
