I'm curious Cold Case, is there a website dedicated to just this criminal case?

Is there somewhere where ''anonymous'' folks can go and give a ''tip'' if they think they have something that might be helpful?

I did see the email address', but, I felt that some people might feel intimidated to use any email account, for fear they might be traced.

I guess even we can be traced by our IP numbers.

The fact is: someone out there is dying to tell the truth, but they are just too afraid.(I've heard this for years, and I think this is their first opportunity to get this information off their chest, and remain anonymous).

Who was Sheriff back then?
Who was the Chief of Police back then?

And who were the police officers and the deputies?

Was there a weak link in our law enforcement, that might have hindered the investigation?

I am confident that this class will come up with something, and that confidence is with DNA testing.

I believe who ever did the ''big coverup'' back then, never thought there would be DNA investigations.

I wish I had just one of the answers. I'm clueless but very interested.I don't know any of the people involved but feel the family deserves some answers as they will never really have peace since they lost their loved one.

This is as good a place as any for comments. Who knows something useful may come to light.

If there really is someone out there that you know "dying to tell the truth" you should encourage them to speak with the MSHP Troop I. If you were in this family's shoes you would want someone to tell what they know. The very least this family deserves is to know what happened to Judy 25+ years ago. The technology today is eons beyond what was available back then. Hopefully, there will be something or someone somewhere that can help in putting this case to rest. What Bowersox and his Drury class is doing is awesome since it's not out of the realm of possibility that they could find some answers for the Spencer family. I know Darla Spencer for one, will not rest until that family has some answers.

No, local girl, I don't know anyone who knows anything, or at least I don't think so. I think though, that, converstation and folks comparing notes in casual discourse in a forum such as this, could spark an old memory from someone, who could lead someone else, to that ''elusive tip''.

I hope and pray there is closure here, and I even hope and pray harder that the murderer is exposed and convicted.

Was Larry Rutledge the Sheriff back then? Or had Clifford Jadwin, already been elected?

I suppose #191, Gary Dunlap, was the Trooper in Charge from Troop I.

I will be interested in their ''revival'' of memories and data.

I'm extremely pleased to read commentary by the local newspaper editor, taking a positive approach to solving this cold case. However, for some reason I read reluctance, between the lines.

Good News Newspapers, have a hard time dealing with ''difficult'' news.

We, here in Dent County, are very fortunate that this case is being reopened and re-examined.

We need answers.

I heard today, down at one of those busy places on the square, that it might have been someone passing through, and then maybe some love interest, that now lives high off the hog here in Dent County,.........someone with no conscience.

Saw an article that said the Spencer family gave law enforcement a list of possible suspects; any idea who's on it?

I have heard it could be one of a number of prominent citizens in Dent Co. Hopefully with DNA the answers will soon come.

Houston Herald has breaking news that an arrest has been made in this case.

I live about 2 miles from this piece of crap and put a storm cellar in at his house 2 years ago. I knew he was a weird one but had no idea he was a murderer. My condolences to the family and at least now they can have closure. God Bless!

When my ex-husband called me the other night and told me that Nash had been arrested, I was so excited for Judy's family. I cannot imagine that many years going by without her family having closure. Nash was suspected by many but there was never a way to prove it until DNA. Part of his punishment is thinking for 26 years he got away with it and now in his sixties it comes back to get him and he'll rot in prison during his "Golden Years". God Blessed Judy's family on March 28, 2008!

Let's not forget the innocent suspects who had to live with public, and sometimes their own family's suspicion for all of these years. Other lives were ruined by the lack of closure in this tragic case. Let us pray for them and the family who had to wait so long for justice. Hopefully, if and when Nash is formally convicted he will receive the maximum punishment for his terrible crime. Thanks to Darla for continuing to search for answers.

Concerning the Judy Spencer quagmire and the people whose lives and that of their families have been destroyed by public humiliation and to a small few law officials who are drawn to occupy a worthless and useless position by storm. I know a man very well who wasn't aquainted with Judy Spencer at all, neither with her friends, associates, or their livestyle. He has probably answered more questions during 26 years than any other person. He once agreed to be put through the ropes (so to speak) off and on for three months so the law and the public would get off his back. He was treated cruel, many hours of questioning, bad enough that the administrators basically threated him not to tell what insued. Sometime after that gauntlet, he agreed to another less canabalistic discussion. The opener for that round was "we (plural) are going to break you down to nothing". By the way, it didn't happen. He had enough and made some lifetime enemies. Later the law sent a leg man to him and said, "due to all the heresy, gossip, and rumors we thought it our duty to see if there might be something to it". He has spent 26 years trying to regain confidence in his family, close relatives, and neighbors. With some success. However, there were those that would never let him up, including local law, state or perhaps federal, and the MO state special crimes squad to which he has complied with their every request. Not withstanding, he has still, or once again a suspect and no doubt someone is staring through a scope at his DNA like a lighting struck mouse.

I was just wondering .....if the DNA they have was collected from her fingernails at the funeral home. Why are they just now deciding it was Mr. Nash who is quilty. Wouldn't they have done that a long time ago. Plus the fact they lived together. Ms.Reed.....You should know that people like us who live in glasss houses should think twice about throwing stones.
