Just wondering, because we were thinking of buying a home there. Are the people nice, what's the school like?, Can you have animals there in town as long as they are kept pinned up?

Thanks.

It's nice if you're a pothead or meth addict, then you'll fit in!!! If riding the current is your thing, then chances are you likes the weed. The people here know everybody and get in everyone's business. Property values are pretty cheap, but i'm guessing that's cause the population numbers dwindled over the past few years, and no real businesses are in town. BUT, it is beautiful, and close to I 44 so that's not bad. Watch out for the children's division tho, they'll take your kids in a heartbeat!!

Thanks,No I'm not a dope user or dope smoker, but It is really pretty down there.I was wondering how's the school down there? We have an 8 yr. old daughter, she's very smart, but the school in here in Potosi just pushes the kids sooooo hard. And they also rush to hurry, hurry real fast through their work. I just think at a smaller school they may learn more. Thanks again for responding. Vern.

Thanks to all response. Yes, I can believe it was a better place to live back in the 60's, I was raised up in the late 70's and even then things were sooooooo much better than it is today.

The steelville schools aren't too bad I suppose, if your kid has special ed needs they are ok with working with that. All in all it's not a bad place. There are nice homes for not much money.

I moved here 30 something years ago from st. louis.
I was use to having millions of things to find to do there.
Living in Steelville you have to go 30 miles either direction to go to a place to shop, or a movie.( and that is still slim pickins).
If you are a man, and enjoy hunting or fishing you are in the right spot, because thats all there is to do here.

Ladies take it from me, if you enjoy the city life STAY THERE!!!!!!

Again, does anyone know about Christian acad. in Steelville?
We are thinking of moving there and i was hoping that the christian school would be a good place for my little eight year old daughter could go, learn about Jesus, and since its a smaller school the teachers would have more time with the student.
If anyone knows anything about the school, please post back.

There might not be awhole lot of things to do down there, but it looks peaceful.

Where's everyone? I never lived in the city, but I wouldn't want to, I prefer the quiet life.Once in a while I like to go shopping, but the city doesn't interest me, I'm content with a good walk out in the country with my daughter and husband, and just enjoy Gods beauty.

hello to all
i have lived here in steelville for 45 years & have loved being here. as for this community it is a great place, people here are very friendly & caring for their neighbors for the business here they are a lot of little shops for your shoping needs. i work at a great little place called bouse's icecream food & more. we serve lots of good food.we also have a great music show also with lots of local talent. we also have several churchs here all that care about your spirtual needs & are willing to help you. as for the real estate here there are a lot of beautiful homes for sale. there are also a lot of homes that need a little tender loving care from there owners & rentee's but that is tipical in aevery little town. we hope you will decide to move here
