Ordinarily, the county treasurer would receive about $1,000 a year from drainage district funds. The county should check with legal counsel and the federal grantor agency to find out whether federal funds should be included in calculating this fee and if this fee was an allowable expense under the federal program. The elected officials and their compensation paid for the year ended December 31 (except as noted) are indicated below: Officeholder 2011 2010 Pat Hoskins, County Treasurer (2)$76,504 (2) Includes $36,504 of fees for county drainage district distributions. Not bad for the poorest county in missouri ! looks like the Hoskins clan made over 100,000.00 that year. And you said pemiscot county was in last place in every category .

I think you need to rethink about that pea sized brain of yours if you cant see whats goong on. this a sad case of affairs.

I think hoskins has done what anyone else would have done in office. You know there is more than one person in this office don't you? Everything is voted on at meetings so the majority wins on all votes. That means more than one. So you don't know what your talking about. You and.Ben just want to keep trashing hoskins. Baker can't do more than Wendell has. Bodkins does want what's best for the county. Why wouldn't he? Also he lives in the north end of the county and not.just for caruthersville. Baker in. His good deeds you mentioned is only trying to promote his business28 he runs in cville. They are talking about HOSKIN not you friend Bodkins wrong county.

Our county may not be in the best shape but it certainly isn't in bad shape either Hoskins always answers his phone when I have called and needed help on our road. Baker may be a good coordinator of events but sounds like he may be to busy with that and his business. Seems like he just wants his name out there. Hoskins is doing a good job. He does his job Attends all meetings and does what's best for the county. And you all know this. There is a new name around and people that have been released from their jobs in the county for not doing a good job get a chance to put their claws out and try to get revenge because they messed up. Our commissioners all do a good job and the ones we have now dedicated men to their jobs. Baker may be a good business man or promoter but he might need to run for mayor instead and let the commissioners do their jobs. Really what needs to be done that your not satisfied with?? Try calling if you need something done or just put it out there. Ben Baker what's your agenda. You must want the 28,000 yourself. Or is it to much cause you want it. Just saying. "The truth will set you free". As to, who is asking the questions, great question ! if you have nothing to hide or if have done nothing wrong the truth will alway's prevail !

If someone reads the audit report and cant understand that the State of Missouri's Auditor rates Pemiscot County in POOR condition is definately in need of an education! Like someone already wrote, out of a ranking of Excellant, Good, Fair, Poor; Pemiscot has the worst rating! How much more simplified do we need to get with this? We are not in good shape! We are not in fair shape! And we sure arent in Good or excellant shape! Poor poor poor poor.....its sad that people dont understand that and its continuing to stay in poor shape! We need a change!

I must say it looks like we hate on Hoskins everyday and today is no different. If you think Ben is posting your wrong and need to get to know him. Otherwise I assume you are some kin to Hoskins because who else would want that man in for another term so the county can stay in the red? Unless he gives you a paycheck or whatever of some sorts. Dont be hating because Ben has lots of true supporters.

KFVS on audit report wrote: An audit by the state auditor State Auditor Tom Schweich found the overall performance of Pemiscot County as poor. The audit found several county funds are in poor financial condition, and poor budgeting practices have made the financial condition worse. The financial condition of the county is considered weak. The General Revenue, Special Road and Bridge and Assessment Funds continue to deteriorate and operate with negative cash balances, according to Schweich. The county is using other funds, including restricted funds, to cover the negative balances and continues to approve deficit budgets for several funds, which is in violation of state law. The audit also claims the county collector does not always deposit receipts timely and intact, increasing the risk of loss, theft, or misuse of funds. Neither the county clerk nor the county commission adequately reviews the activities of the county collector. Timesheets were not available for some county employees and the county does not maintain centralized records of leave balances. Several employees had negative vacation and/or sick leave balances. The audit also claims the county does not tag, inventory, or track capital assets properly or adequately monitor vehicle and fuel use, maintain mileage and fuel use logs or reconcile fuel used to fuel purchased. Other claims include not entering into agreements with various political subdivisions before withholding property tax payments for taxes and legal fees relating to a protested tax case. The audit also found the previous county treasurer was paid more than normal from drainage district funds because of an increase in federal funds. The audit also noted that bad checks fees and court-ordered restitution are not transmitted from the county prosecutor to the county treasurer or victims in a timely manner. the treasurer was paid more than normal WHAT THE HAY ! The Hoskins are not poor people they are big farmers, lawyer in the family, county commissioner, treasurer for years, they knew better. took more than normal in pay, I cannot believe it. alli can say is WHAT THE HAY !

Sometimes you need to dig a little deeper and see how some people have the money they have. And of course there are those you think have money that are really having a hard time staying afloat or their bills are going unpaid, bankruptcy, and so on.
