DANG IT!!!!!!!! Y CANT YOU ALL JUST GET OVER IT. Sure some of the players have not been rotated out of a game yet but there is nothing they can do about it. If you are sitting the bench it means that there are 6 stronger players than you who the coaches believe can get the job done faster than the others can. If your on the bench it dosent mean that you are a bad player at all. Just work harder at practices and show coach that you are willing to break a bone for the team if that is what it takes. We have a player that lost her spot in the starting 6 and is doing just that to make her passing perfect.( hits didnt need much work at all :) fo rthe players thay go home whining to mommy and daddy on the school board is this SHOW IT OR SHUT IT!!!!!!!!
Name one better player that has been on the bench that shoulda been on the court...most of the girls that are sitting the bench are better than the ones that are playing.

First off my child is a starting player!! I am speaking for the ones who are sitting the bench that have been playing with her for years. I dont think its fair..why mess with what works?? There is no reason for half the girls that are sitting the bench, but the coaches kid plays and stays in every game, so first off keep your nose out of it if you dont have a kid that plays or know whats going on!!!!
Your right really none of my business and I don't really care I just get tired of belly achig parents.

the girls didn't sign up to sit the bench each game. they signed up to play volleyball. if you put a sign up asking for students to sit the bench all year, i doubt if you would have any to take the offer.

You know this is an AGE old complaint. Been going on for years so learn to live with it. Nothing has changed and its not going to change. The ones that are good are going to play. So if you can't stand it then either don't go to games or live with it. Your kids arent't the first and won't be the last to have this experience as long as there are sports in schools. Getting on a public forum and gripping about it is not going to change one thing, I don't care if you set on here all day long. Another thing, you should have know if the coach has a daughter on the team it was going to be this way. Did you really expect her girl to set the bench all the time or be given equal time? Get real. Finally to bulldog parent, I pay my fair share of taxes to that school out there and it is a public school which means anything that goes on out there I can make my business. A 2 yr old can figure your problem out. You start out all excited, inviting everyone to attend the games and with 2 weeks you are complaining about the coach and her dauther.

a good solution to the AGE OLD problem is for the girls that don't get to play and have to sit the bench, quit the team. if they aren't going to get to play why bother to be on the team?

She misses alot of practice, but when she does play, she blocks the crap outta the ball. She would play more, if she was able to come to practice. She is a good player.

The problem I have is the fact that the coach NEVER puts her child on the bench. NEVER & she's a sophomore playing varsity. Don't get me wrong, she is a really good player, but she could play JV and let the girls that are juniors and seniors, that are equally good players play varsity instead of sitting the bench. My complaint is not about the players sitting the bench, it is that the coach will not take her child out of the game not even for a minute. These are a list of players that have been on the bench that go to practice and should be playing just as much or more than the coaches child: Chantelle Boyd, Kassie Lipscomb, Shelbey Hubley, Danesha Spates, Samantha Davidson, Athena Harris, Ashlynn Davis, Sara Dodd, Katie Harrison, Holly McKay, Marquita Brodie and Courtney Greene. These players should be getting playing time too. For some, this is their last year to play and any parent wants their child to be playing especially in conference and tournament play if their child could possibly get a scholarship to play ball, but how is anyone gonna see your child if they are sitting on the bench most of the time. So if I sound like a pissy parent...then I guess I am because some of us aren't rich and with the economy the way it is, that's the only way some of us will know that our kids will go to college. So forgive me for wanting my child to go to college to play ball, but scouts won't see these girls play. Maybe academics will get scholarships for my child and these other girls.

Hey, SERIOUSLY... if you need your child to be seen. Tell Coach to get her and some of her friends some try-outs. SHE WILL DO IT! Keep in mind, it looks good on a H.S. Coach if the local colleges say: That SP School system pumps-out some talent that I draw from every year.(and so far, this coach is doing just that!) If your daughter can strut on try-out day... that's really all that matters. You don't have scouts in the seats (unfortunate fact for the bootheel area) at many games unless the team makes it out of their own conference.

Again, Good luck to them all (and you, too. The roll of parent is a tough one, Been there, Done that... didn't always like wearing the t-shirt on the sidelines.)

They can really do that?? Well, I guess the saying is true "you learn something new everyday". I will speak to the coach about it. Thanks for the info, that really makes me feel alot better! I'm sure she can make it through a try out. She got about 12 kills and 15 aces in the Gideon Tournament. Hayti game is tonight..she is actually better at basketball than volleyball. Can't wait til bball season starts. She's a great kid with a great attitude. I guess I'm a little overbaring and stay on her too much, so I will back off her some and just let her enjoy playing, especially now that I have this new info...thanks again!

Tell me...how do you play 15 girls (some weaker player, some stronger players) in at most 3 sets and still everyone expects her/him to win? If you can answer that or prove that then you would be the best high school coach around!!! If you haven't looked around at the other teams no coach plays every player every game bc their job is to WIN! If it isn't about winning then why are there championships? Why is it such a big deal going to state? Maybe the coach should've cut players and just took one big butt chewing in the beginning instead of dealing with this crap all year! Yall have no idea what a coach goes threw or how it affects their home life!!! What if your kid does get a college scholarship and doesn't get to play...r yall still gonna whine then bc guess what it does happen! The athletes that make it to college r all the best from there own town...not everyone's gonna get to play. There is always someone that can do it better.

I'm glad you were keeping up bc how many aces or kills did the others have in that tourny? Your daughter wouldn't have had those KILLS or ACES without her teammates!!! Lets see someone had to make a pass and a set for her to get a kill and for her to have "15" aces them someone would've had to play alil defense and im sure your daughter couldn't do all that by herself. It's not always about killing the ball or serving aces bc if that's all you or your daughter worry about then she won't make it through a try-out bc the coaches will see her as a selfish player with very little talent. Sorry to break it to ya...

it is simple. if all teams were required to play all players each game everything would be fair and all of the players would get to play. the state of missouri and federal government should mandate that all players must get an opportunity to play equal time each game or no state funds for the school for athletics. then all schools would play all of their best players and all of their worst players at each game. the object should not be to win but to teach the players the sport and game. if they win that is great , if they don't win, they still have had an opportunity like everyone else. winning should be secondary not priority.
