A waste of money! JAUNT needs to focus on expanding their service hours to surrounding counties.

I would agree with that.

Really? JAUNT does not control what hours it provides service, it is 100% based on what each county is willing to fund. If you want more service talk to your board of supervisors.

Looks like they are buying Ford junk.

You will become friends with the tow truck driver, and transmission repair shop.

Buy a spare bus or two also because if those things have the 6.0 diesel powerchoke you will be in emission control misery forever.

I am excited by the efforts of JAUNT to get from Buckingham Elderly, those with disabilities. I wish Wayboro Curculator would learn from this story. We may work, volunteer or to shop and spend the day in the city. We are opperated by CATS, Coordinated Area Transit who carries buses in Rockbridge, Lexington, Augusta counties, and even in Culpepper in our area relying on state grants the fall very short. My hope is that we can come up with a more extended area and I would pay $4.00 one way for independence.

I did not know that. Thanks for the advice. I have an adult Disabled daughter that works from 1-5pm every Sunday and I have to provide transportation each Sunday, driving 23 miles one way and then hang out for 4 hours until work is over- tiring at best and Creating a hardship! If my girl worked more--during the week, JAUNT will not bring her home after 3:30 pm. They would pick her up at 5 pm and drop her off at a country store in Albemarle County when we live about 7 miles away from that store-- But, because it is Louisa County, they won't bring her home! She is brain injured and needs not to be dropped off in the middle of nowhere in possible rain and snow? Not such a safe situation for a young girl who is brain injured! It is frustrating because my daughter would like to get off of disability (though she is severly disabled) and work full time-her goal. Her work would love to have her full time but...thanks for the tip. Of course I could suggest that she quit work but it does so much for her self esteem. The customers love her and so do the staff! Not sure what to do?
