I'm sorry, but I don't foresee this thing ending very well for the Augusta County Sheriff's Office. It doesn't appear as if things were done on the up and up. Northern Virginia attorneys are going to be down here ripping the deputy a new one. If all of these cars were not LEGALLY imponded by the letter of the law, and when and if half the charges are dismissed, Sheriff Fisher and the deputy are going to see a lot of lawsuits landing in their hands.

That all might be true and if the cops overstepped their egos the lawyers should sue the counties pants off, but, no excuse for showing your arse on the street.

Seems like the officers were acting a little extreme on the impounding of cars but I do agree that the strong arm of the law should be right after these guys. I wouldn't be surprised to also find out the owners/drivers of these cars were young hot shots trying to impress others. Instead of a nice weekend cruise on the beautiful roads of the valley they had to endanger others with their antics. Hopefully they will be taught a lesson and next time they want to display what their cars can do, do it on a closed course that is well supervised and meant for their actions. Don't do it on public roads where you are not only risking your lives but that of others.

GOOD I have encounted this group before and they do not abid by the highway rules. It is a wonder not one has been injured. Also did any of the drivers undergo a sobriety check ?

Good going to these officers. These kids in these "car clubs" are just a bunch of uneducated wiggers that think they are cool driving their '93 Civic Hatchbacks that they put $5k worth of upgrades on when the car is worth 1k.

Um, you might want to check your sources on THIS car club. I am thinking these were not rice burner drivers.

Would be nice if there was a little more info in this article. Were the cars impounded because they were not street legal? Were the summons given for the driving practices, car equipment issues or driver impairment?

Glad i wasn't at the end (or front) of the line just cruising out that way to visit my son-in-law in my 68 Merc. convertible. Been out there many times. Would they have towed my car? Maybe and probably. All i can say if they would have it would of been great. I NEED THE MONEY if you know what i mean--but i wouldn't hired a certain lawyer from S.D.

Most like likely a Corvette club. There's nowhere you can use them to anywhere near their potential so they are useless on the street unless you break the law. If they were MG's they could do 50 on the highway all day long and feel like they were setting land speed records.

not that it excuses the behavior by any means, but the "misfits.tv" crowd were driving some high end sports cars, including a Maclaren, so that does remove them from the ricer crowd.

The speeds over 100 and passing in blind curves is what got them nailed.
