This one is for Derek.. I was his g/f over a couple of years and I experienced more than I would ever expected in such a short time with not only addiction but the time I spent trying to help someone, and loving someone no matter what you went through. People thought I was apart of it to get high with him as well but the whole time I was trying to help Derek because I saw the good in him, he had a wonderful heart full of passion and willing to help others.. that was what kept me by his side. I had faith in him, and he always told me I was his rock. I realized over time I couldnt change him, he had to help himself. I still think about Derek everday because he has affected me in so many ways.. I truly loved him from inside and out. I realize the most sensitive people are the ones who have a hard time dealing with the complications of the world, its too hard to deal with for some people. For someone to have that much passion towards the world is amazing but sad at the same time because you dont want to lose those kinds of people.. but I'm glad he is in a better place where he doesnt have to suffer from the drugs any longer.. that makes me happy. Dont ever think that you can change someone who is addicted, just be there to love and support them to do the right thing, and that they ARE capable of changing but dont expect them to completely change because of you and you only. Love all you can, you never know what may happen. Rest in peace Derek Richard Allen, love you always babe..
