Has anyone drove on the backside if Goodwill on Tunrersburg Hwy? Well I was going to work and noticed the employees out back trowing away toys that we have donated to them. Now, why in the world would they be throwing away all those stuffed animals when they could ship 'em to a third world country where some of those children have never seen a stuffed animal nor had the chance to even have one and what a difference that would make in their lives something to hang on to when there is nothing else to. Can someone please tell me why I seen this and why they were doing it. They were litterly taking it off the rack from inside and tossing them into the large dumpster in the back of the store and all the ones they threw away looked in fairly good condition. please someone tell me why?

This might have something to do with past recalls of Chinese made toys. There were news stories about people that would "donate" the toys to charity instead of taking them back to the stores for a refund. Also, stuffed animals are great places for germs, since kids will put them in their mouths. Some things just can't be safely donated.

I love the Goodwill, especially the one in Statesville. I'm sure they have good reason for throwing away what they do. I would rather they throw things away that they feel will not sell or are damaged than putting it on the shelves to take up space and clutter things up. I am pregnant and I have bought 95% or better of my baby's clothes and my clothes from there. I have also bought nice furniture from the Statesville Goodwill. I have always been treated well while shopping there. Any store will call the police on you for going through the garbage. Go to Wal-Mart and try to get the flowers they throw out at the end of the season, they will not allow it. I'm happy to be able to have a store to get good items for a fraction of the cost. Not only do they help me out but in turn they are creating jobs for others.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Libra

If you're invited to a party or gathering today and you don't know whether to go, you should. You'll have a terrific time and you might meet someone who always makes your knees go weak. Even if it's a perfectly harmless flirtation and you're both happily committed to other people, it will still do your ego good to have a tantalizing conversation with this person.
