from WINS:

"'I did my best to cut his throat,' Rabia Sarwar wrote.'But the next moment he jumped on me and grabbed me.'

"Sarwar's attorney, Joe Licitra, said she had previously been treated for depression. Her husband told the New York Post that Sarwar, a native of Pakistan, was having a hard time adjusting to American culture.

"'There was no gun pointed to her head to do these things,' Naseem told the Post."

Though one does not agree or accept another's religion, one should always respect the other person's beliefs. It would make for a much more peaceful world.

If you respect someone who believes they have a right to destroy your way of life and kill you for not accepting theirs will make for a much more peaceful world, I would have to assume you have not considered the potential consequences.

@ Wilberhum:

The poster above you was not referring to respecting the Republican party, which you described to a "T."

He was referring to respecting Muslims for their religious beliefs, because real Islam is a path of peace revealed by the one and only God.

All of God's revealed scriptures advise against violence and killing, and anyone who engages in violence or killing is disobeying God's revealed scriptures.

Disobedience to God's scriptures is an atheistic activity, not an Islamic one.

@ Nina:

All of God's revealed scriptures condemn violence and killing. If one's belief is that you should convert or die, then he is a believer in atheist dogma, which is diametrically opposed to God's revealed scriptures (including the Holy Koran).

I don't agree with atheist dogma.

Anyone who kills, anyone at all, whether he is honest about his atheism or is lying about his atheism and falsely claiming to be a member of some other religion, is going against God's wishes as He has revealed them in the Holy Koran, and is therefore atheist, not Muslim.

You use the bizarre term, "your founder." Who exactly do you imagine founded me? How can a man have a "founder?"

The "so-called God" that you are writing about is your own straw-man logical fallacy, which you produced with your overly-fertile imagination, and is not the one and only real God.

Your position is that of a counterfeiter who insanely declares that real currency is without value. Unfortunately, your own counterfeiting operation has addled your brain to the facts.

Don't you mean Allah, not God?

It is not an Atheistic activity and do you mean to imply that Atheists are less moral or more dangerous than Muslims? Atheists do not disobey God's scriptures, they ignore them. Atheists do not kill because they are devout. Mind you, I don't think she killed because she was devout, though that cannot have helped the situation. It seems she killed because she was in the power of a controlling and apparently rather abusive husband. Her superstitious beliefs in the 'word of god' did not help her rationalise or solve her situation. There were probably support groups, including church groups, that might have helped her. Presumably the local Imam, if she had access to him, could not?

Allah is one of God's many names -- same person. A man can be called Mr. Jones at work, and Robert, Bobby, Daddy, or "Honey" at home, but even though each one of us may have many names, it is still the same person in each case, and it is no different for God -- He also has many names.
The only difference is that the number of names that you and I may have is limited, but God's number of names is unlimited.
All of God's scriptures prohibit violence and killing, and disobedience to God's scriptures is atheistic. Therefore, all violence and killing are atheistic activities.
Ignorance is the cause of the atheist's disobedience of God's scriptures, but the cause of his disobedience does not negate the fact that he disobeys -- you commit the genetic logical fallacy in your post above.
This woman disobeyed God's revealed scriptures when she used violence. That clear and irrefutable act of disobedience to God's scriptural injunctions was an atheistic activity, as are all acts of disobedience to God's scriptural injunctions.
To make this a little more clear because I realize that there is a whole spectrum of people out there with various levels of cognitive function and malfunction:
Obedience to God's scriptural injunctions is a Theistic activity.
Disobedience to God's scriptural injunctions is an atheistic activity.
This obviously includes one of the injunctions that He has taken care to make extremely well-known all over the world, "Thou shalt not kill."
