Bill would alter S.C. gun laws

Full story: The State

I think (the General Assembly) is the most well-armed group in South Carolina Lawmakers could soon be packing heat while working at the State House, visiting schools or taking care of business at other publicly owned buildings. A bill, pending before a House subcommittee Thursday, would allow some members of the state's General Assembly to carry firearms around the Capitol grounds and into other public buildings such as schools. The change in state law would only apply to lawmakers who have a valid concealed weapons permit, which signifies they have undergone eight hours of handgun training and passed criminal and mental background checks. Great idea which should be extended to any CWP bearing citizen. If he has passed the background checks, chances are that he is a good citizen. If I was in a bank or other place being robbed, I would appreciate the help of an armed citizen.

How in the world will background checks on 18 year olds even be possible? If they have a record as a juvenile in SC, the record is sealed; watch violence on campuses and in neighborhoods rise with this new bill. I am all for 2nd Amendment Rights, but allowing the idiots who makes laws in SC to carry CW and allowing 18 year olds in SC shows how stupid and naive Mark Sanford really is.

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Scorpio

Self-worship is easy and obvious, today. The real prize is when you turn from the mirror to see that others think just as highly of you. Take in all this love and amazement, and store some away for lean times in the future. Someone may give you an unexpected compliment later in the day, but don't let them know that it caught you off guard. After all, you still have your reputation as an egomaniac to uphold!
