Why did PSU let Pseudo-Governor Corbett place the Sandusky blame on the school? Tom Corbett was the PA Attorney General in 1997 that gave the earliest Sandusky complaints to DA Ray Gricar. Corbett essentially gets out as Attorney General in 1998 and leaves the Sandusky matter with Gricar. Gricar either can't or isn't allowed to go after Sandusky. He then vanishes into thin air, poof, gone forever. After Gricar is safely gone, Corbett comes back in as Att. Gen. in 2004 and won't reopen the case that Gricar left behind. In fact, Corbett just tucks it away for years on end. And if that's not enough, Corbett gets reelected as ATT. Gen in 2008 and still won't do anything about Sandusky until it goes public. He then scrambles to make it look as though he's "doing his job" 8 years too late! And then he actually frames PSU to take his blame! It is quite likely that big money from Sandusky's Second Mile went to Corbett to buy immunity for Sandusky for over 10 years!
PSU needs to insist that the blame falls squarely on Corbett's shoulders for what he would not do. He was the highest law enforcement official in PA for 3 terms and did nothing. How in the world is this Paterno's fault? He was not the powerful Att. Gen. that had Sandusky Complaints on his desk to deal with in 1997. Joe Paterno is a football coach, not a law enforcement official that was supposed to prosecute Sandusky along time ago. One last word: Louis Freeh knows of Sandusky pedophile complaints given to the FBI in the 70s and 80s. So it's clear Freeh has a stake in protecting his Federal government negligence along with Corbett's state government negligence. None of this dark government stuff is Paterno. Yet PSU stands back and lets Corbett and Freeh destroy their wonderful school.
