Highly unprofessional. Arrived 20 minutes late to the appointment and offered no apology or explanation. Was rude and abrupt during the eye exam. I absolutely *refuse* to recommend this optometrist. (He is also located at the Pearle Vision store in the Nittany Mall).

He was unorganized, impatient, and did not seem to care. He sighed when I asked questions and did not make me feel comfortable. I was very disappointed after my visit with him at Pearle Vision in the Nittany Mall.

All he cares is to show that u are blind!! he gave me such a strung prisc. I was never myopic and he wrote 1.25 for it!!! He is really pushy during exam, make u tired and then he would say "oh U're eyes are really week", after wearing the glass he suggested, I told him that I can't see really good, I think something is wrong , his answer : " U will get used to it"!!! I visited him at Pearle Vision in the Nittany Mall. I got a new test and found out I have just 0.25 myopia!!

I agree with all these posts, and have been looking for a place to complain ever since my visit to the Nittany Mall Pearle Vision in January. I arrived just before for my scheduled appointment at 2 PM, did not get out of there till after 4. When I arrived, I was given several sheets of paperwork, and Dr. Blender decided to help another guy while I filled it out. He told me "he would be right back." It was another 40 minutes before he came back, and he offered no explanation as to what caused the hold-up. We finally began my eye exam, he tried to tell me I wasn't being honest about the slides he was showing me, and just guessing about them, which I wasn't. After we got done, despite me showing him my insurance card, he claimed there was a problem with the insurance information I had given, and he needed to call for some kind of comfirmation from the company. Another hour later, he got what he needed. I used the same insurance policy at Target Optical the previous year, and had absolutely no trouble with it. Dr. Blender got rude and acted defensive when I asked him questions. Asshole.

Dr. Blender is not very personable, it seems as if he doesn't really enjoy people...I felt that he was condescending during my exam. He "re-phrased" things for me because I had made a joke and thought I wasn't paying attention to what he said. Basically made me feel as though I was the problem. I was happy that he corrected my vision to better than what my old script was...but he doesn't make you feel as though you can ask him questions. At one point during that glaucoma (air test) he told me that I was blinking, moving, and tearing up too much and that "he really can't work with this."

I agree with all the posts. He was very rude, impersonal, condescending and impatient. No one deserves to be treated like this!!!

Dr. Blender needs to find a new profession! He was late to my appointment, he rushed through my exam, when I asked him to slow down because my eyes could not adjust to the different lense powers. He said it was me! Iam blind in one eye and I see 20/20 in my right. The lense he prescribed was blurred and I told him so that day. He said, " well thats what you need".When I got the glasses they were the same, blurred! The girl at Wal mart said to try them for a week that maybe my eyes just needed to adjust to the new prescription. I tried them for 1 1/2 weeks No change, except the head aches I had that whole time. I then checked Dr. Blender out online. This guy has the worst reputation and many, many complaints. I went back to Walmart with all this new information in hand, and demanded a full refund. It took awhile, but finally the main store manger got involved and I received all my money back, including Dr. Blenders eye exam. The store manager at Walmart in Montoursville, Pa. is great and I'll still shop there. A word of advice, avoid the Eye department till they fire Dr. Blender. He also works at the Nittany Mall in State College, Pa. BEWARE!!!!!

A year and 3 months after my appointment, I damaged my lenses. I simply wanted to know my prescription so I could order new lenses. Dr. Blender said that my prescription is "expired" and refused to provide it. He said that I needed a new exam. I explained that my vision plan only covers an exam every 2 yrs. He said that there was nothing that he could do, and restated that the prescription had "expired." I'm pretty sure that I have a legal right to my medical record. Nevertheless, another provider was able to accommodate my needs. At the time (3/14) of the exam he was working at Lens Crafters in Altoona. He has since moved. Needless to say, I will not return to him nor refer anyone to him.

I just received the most thorough exam I have ever had! Thank you so much Dr. Andrew Blender! I was very impressed with how thorough you were and how you explained everything and at the end when you asked me if I had any questions I had not one question. I've worked in the hospitality business for over 40 years and I can read people very well. Dr. blender Does not sugarcoat, he gets straight to the point and he is a very professional man. He moves quickly and he gets the job none thoroughly. Very self-assured man which is very impressive in my eyes. I thoroughly trust his diagnosis and his care. Sandra Treece

Here's 3 tips for you.

Tip1. You can contact these websites to speak with Walmart Vision Center & Pearle Vision corporate office by clicking on these links-->>> https://www.pearlevision.com/m20ContentView...

Click here---->>>> http://help.walmart.com/app/answers/detail/a_...

Ask the person who answer the phone their position & ask to speak to someone in a higher position.

Tip 2. Black people do not call themselves black African American. It's either black or African American & they use capital letters when describing an ethnic group.

Tip.3 Your grammar is not very good. When you end a sentence you're suppose to start a new
sentence with capital letters. Check spelling because it's "piece" not peice & "Walmart" is spelled as one word not two. You maybe foreign so I'm not trying to crack on your grammar...I'm just giving you tips.

I would not doubt that the doctor at Pearle Vision & the employee at Walmart Vision Center was unprofessional because that's how most businesses operate in State College, Pa.. It's rare that I would eat at any restaurant in State College, PA unless I can see them prepare my food.
