What do you think's gonna happen if you crash in an event like this? It's not like Nascar where you just spin out and maybe hit the wall. The likelihood of death has to be 98%. Better have good life insurance!

What is wrong with you? You can't tell a highly trained, highly motivated, living-on-the-edge pilot not to fly. They know the risks. For them pulling G's in a corner at 400mph is living life to the fullest. Who are we to say they can't do that if they want to?

To "common sense:" Air racing, car racing, boat racing, and so on are, to its entrants subject to the old instruction to learning equestrians. "Ok, she threw you! Now get back on and do it again." It is the rider's decision, not yours or mine, whether to go again. The alternative to flying/riding/driving/etc. again is to accept an inner defeat and abandon a dream.

Before the darts start flying, I certainly would not walk a tightwire between two skyscrapers but there are more than one man who does just that. I do not want someone telling me I must, and I surely don't approve of anyone telling them they cannot.

And to doobie (and others) I really am offended by the suggestion that someone who has the knowledge, experience training and sheer balls to even fly one of those jet racers close to the ground is classed as "idiot." How did you classify the late Evel Knievel? The olympic divers who launch from a platform 20 meters above the water? Or do all people who enjoy the thrill of "pushing the envelope" fall into the isiot class?

Just like to know.

Sorry, it was supposed to be "idiot" not "isiot" -- my old fingers and a little keyboard are a bad mix.

There is nothing quite as exilerating
as being shot at .... resulting in a Very rear "miss".

Same type thing applies here.

Life takes on a whole new meaning.

Some times you lose ... that is the part of the game.

But the trick is to Win ... it is like a drug high when you do.

You either understand it ... or you don't

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Pisces

Although you're busy putting the finishing touches to your Christmas preparations, you'll also have to pay attention to someone who's feeling neglected or unloved. Luckily, it won't take much to make this person feel better, so a big hug or a little consideration might do the trick. You should also bear in mind that they may be feeling nostalgic or sad about the past.
