Regardless of how the accident happened (since as usual, WOOD-TV shows their famous lack of information on their web news), it is admirable that the driver did the right thing by rendering aid, and I respect that.

I was hit by a car five years back; I had the right-of-way in my case. It was fortunate that I wasn't hurt more than a skinned elbow, but my bike was nearly totaled. The driver also did the right thing in my case, making the situation a lot easier to work with.

It's pathetic that it's NEWS when someone does the right thing, especially when hitting someone with a car. What is this world coming to?

I, for one, commend WOOD for reporting some good news at a time when there seems to be a lot of bad news coming our way both locally and nationally. While this story may not be earth-shattering news, it certainly reminds me in a small way that there are good and decent people out there who, even after making a mistake, immediately attempt to help.

We need more balance in the news or eventually we'll all be too spooked to leave our houses.

My sister was riding her bike to work and was run into by a car. She fell and struck her head on the curb. The driver left immediately after hitting her. Fortunately, she was not seriously injured.

Unfortunately there are too many that leave the scene of an accident so it's nice to hear that someone has done the right thing by staying and helping the victim. Accidents happen and having the decency to stay and take responsibility is the right thing to do! It's not front page news worthy but it helps to enforce that it's still good and moral to do the right thing today.

I have to agree, its sad when someone doing the right thing is worth reporting. Thats just the world we live in. I would have been nice for Wood to provide a little more indepth information, like who was at fault (since a person on a bike, roller skates, scooter, skate board, etc., is not a pedestrian). I would imagine that all it would have taken is a call to the local police department to provide one or two more details to make this a complete story.
