Thought the drunk driving laws were going to be looked at????? Perhaps we should look at judges and prosecutors who will not feel sorry for drunk drivers and will punish them accordingly! 5 offenses and he still will only get 18 months????? What does he have to do....kill someone????????

Yes Sandy...that is exactly what needs to happen. He needs to kill someone (hopefully himself), before anything will be done.

I've said it before, I'll say it again...Michigan's drunk driving laws are a joke...

There is a guy in the West Michigan area that because of DUI's, his license has been suspended until well past 2090.... AND HE STILL GETS PICKED UP DRIVING DRUNK! Yes, you have to kill or injure someone. There is no teeth in the current MI law right now.....but then who said we were a leader at anything except Unemployment...

"He was technically really the victim in the accident," McFadden said. "He was drunk and he was operating a motor vehicle so he still needs to be penalized."

WHAT? The victim?

He needs to be put away for a long while.

Why are they making deals with these azzholes? Maybe if someone close to this prosecuter is hurt or killed he'll get tough.

Yeppers he needs to kill someone.
Preferably a politican or lawyer/judge or family of same than the system will go into overdrive.
Other than that the common folk have to suffer justice the way it is.

With that many convictions, the State should sell all his motor vehicles and not allow him to have a motor vehicle of any kind by denying him vehicle registration and all insurance company black list.

Not many people that get stopped for say, driving while license suspended, are driving a car they own anyway. In fact, that particular infraction is WAY UP with the advent of "responsibility fees" where it does not take much to get behind the eight ball and have to pay thousands in order to get your license back, or in other words, just give up and drive anyway, WHICH IS WHAT IS HAPPENING. Grandmole miscalculated BIGTIME on that. And why buy insurance if you don't have a license? In fact, you can't. Thanks to responsibility fees there has been a HUGE increase in irresponsible and dangerous uninsured drivers on our Michigan roads.

What? Another well intentioned revenue generator that has adverse effects? From the government, you say?

Ohhh, I like that idea....

As a biker, this guy makes me sick. Like I said in an earlier post, I hope in his next drunk driving episode (and there will be another), that the only person he hurts, is himself.

Yea lets give him a break. After all it wasn't his fault. Seems it doesn't become a serious matter until he kills someone. Why is he still being allowed to drive. The laws governing drunk driving needs to get tougher to keep these people off of our roads.

IMHO, if he continues to drink and drive a motorcyle, he will effectively put the ultimate penalty on himself eventually...death.
