Please tell me is this Dr.Julie Kennon , the one who was married to the youngest Kennon man ? And from what I understand she left her husband for a woman. I am so sorry to say this but it all sounds a little disfunctional to me .I have been to the Powell County Clinic for several aches/pains and they would never give me anything except darvocet , So you are telling me they give a junkie/child molester stronger meds. Now that really makes me mad .Because I found myself a better Doctor and he did surgery on me and now I am told I will never be able to work again , from and old neck injury that should have been treated years ago.

The drug pushers are all around you on every side and in every corner. They are very young and can be very old, they can be church goers or they can be ally cats ,,,they have two faces - good and evil ]]] they can smile one minute and kill you the next .It isn't the person it is the stuff that the person is taking ...It will be wiped out someday but in the meantime watch your back because you never know ,,you just never know......

In my opinion, Dr Julie Kennon is not a respectable doctor. I'm aware of several people who regularly see her and obtain meds that they do not need. The drug problem in Powell County is bad enough without a Dr contributing to it.

I dont mean to say she is knowingly contributing, but she may need to reconsider some of her patients and prescriptions.

it's very difficult for drs to differentiate the addicts from the patients. as long as a patient has the correct amount in their bottles when they are called for a pill count, and can pass a urine drug screen. It's all good. Personally I think they should require blood samples and call people in for pill counts more often. There are too many people who pack urine in for the drug screens. In lexington they go in the bathroom with ya.

I have been a patient of Dr. Julie Kennon for years now and so is my husband, she does not give either of us strong pain meds (when we need them), and will not take on new patients if they are on pain meds. I know this for a fact, because when our son and daughter lost their Dr., we ask Julie if she would see them and the first thing she said was "not for pain meds" and we told her they had health issues, did not need pain meds. so she agreed to see them. Just because she does not live the lifestyle you think she should, does not give you the right to attack her integrity as a Physician. She is very cautious about giving any medications to people, and especially pain medications. So please think before you say something about someone, especially something that could cause them to lose their job and/or cause them to go to prison. Take care and God Bless.

Dr. Kennon does prescribe people pain meds who abuse them. I know several people who go there and get pain meds who don't take them right, so to say that she don't prescribe it is a lie. But it's not her fault if someone can get around the drug tests and pill counts. If you've got a complaint on someone, call it in, I'm sure if the complaint is proven to be valid, they won't be getting pain meds anymore. And, her lifestyle well that's just her business. I think she's a good dr and everyone's gotta have something negative to say about everyone so that's to be expected. But she does her job very good and I have never seen any unprofessional behavior out of her EVER!!!! So, the Julie bashing should stop. But those who are abusing their pain meds should definitely be cut off. I hate to see people get away with that crap when my tax dollars are paying for them to be at home while I'm working.

Please do not call me a liar, I only told you my experiences with Dr. Kennon. The strongest thing she has given my husband was Darvocet or ibuprophen 800's. She won't give me anything for pain as I am allergic to all pain meds, and she won't give me very strong muscle relaxants either. But then again I'm not seeing her for drugs, I see her because I've got real health problems and so does my husband. He has diabetes and heart problems and I suffer with depression and arthritis. I know she can't tell who is just coming to get drugs, but I do believe she does everything she can not to add to the drug problems we have here in Powell County. I tell things from my perspective but that doesn't mean I'm a liar. Take care and God Bless.

P.S. I may stay at home while you are working, but I can guarantee you that your tax dollars are not what is paying for me to do it. I've worked since I was 17 until I was 51 and became disabled, I paid in my fair share of taxes and Social Security for me to sit at home while you are working. Again God bless and take care.

Alright, lets just assume that Doc. Kennon doesn't give out pain meds. But I know for a fact that the Kennons (boys) will pop anything they can get as well as smoke a pound of pot in a week .They hide behind their family name in Powell Co. And good old Jared Kennon is the worst , and we know because we have attended several parties @ their house and seen it. It makes me sick that there is alot of chronic pain issues in the world that needs to be addressed ,people who wake up in pain and have no quality of life left ... these are the people that commit sucide . And everyone shakes their head and asks (why)' well maybe if they had a doctor that understood that not all people are out to get drugs , just enough relief to make one day better so they can play with their children or grandchildren or do there dishes ...worse case scenerio (get out of bed). Yes, drug dealers have made it hard for the people that are truly in pain ,but Please understand that The World has many people effected by chronic pain , and any doctor knows the patients history when they come into the office , so why not help the people that need help ... I thought that was what Doctors are for . And I recieve my own benifits as well , not your's ..good for you Maggie Mae for speaking out.

Guys really the bigger picture here is not the small town doctors. They can figure out who the pill heads are. What about all this Florida crap? Those Dr.s should be the ones held responsible. I think everyone should be on their toes. Addiction to pain killers is becoming a serious matter. Even the most honest God fearing person can become dependant upon these meds even when used as directed over a period of time. These truely are sad times for us all. I pity the people who are in serious pain and wish there was another way to help. But the FDA should really step it up.

I didn't call you a liar Maggie. I said to say that she doesn't prescribe them would be a lie. Everyone can't comment on something that they don't experience. So since she doesn't prescribe them to you, then you wouldn't know if she gave them to people or not. Like I said, I know people she gives them to that does abuse them. She does look for signs of an addict, she doesn't just pass them out like they do in Florida. Actually to get them from her means you're pretty much legit, but sometimes there are people who slip through the cracks and just like #15 said, even the most honest person can become hooked on pain pills. This is inevitable, if you take a pain medication you will get to where the pain meds don't work and the pain is almost the same as if you weren't taking them at all. Drugs play tricks on your mind. I know this to be a fact. As for your social security, I've paid mine in as well and I'm eligible just like you, I've got health problems enough to stay home. I chose to work instead. If people in wheel chairs can get out and work everyday, then most of the people on disability can. I'm not looking to pick a fight with you, I'm just saying not everyone who has disabilities get disability.

So now you are saying I should still be working instead of drawing Social Security DISABILITY. Girl you better back up. I worked for several years after I could have been drawing. I went to work everyday on a quad cane. I've worked with my arm in a cast and I worked while on crutches. Be very careful when you spout off about someone else. If the Doctors that work for Social Security don't deny that you are disabled, then who are you to say I could still be out there working. When I finally gave in and signed up for my disability, they sent me to a couple of their doctors and got all of my medical records and they didn't deny me my benefits. I didn't have to appeal or fight them for them either. I was drawing it as soon as my six month waiting period was up. Believe me I would love to be able to be back out there working, but since I'm allergic to pain meds, there's nothing but extra strength tylenol that I can take for my pain. I've had 20 different bone fractures, a ruptured disc, a bulging disc, have arthritis, osteoporosis, suffer from depression ( from the constant pain), can't even get out of bed to go to the restroom without assistance, that's a brief list of my health problems, but heck yea, let me grab my cane and I'll RUN out and see what I can do to find myself some gainful employment, just to make you happy. Anybody that would talk the way you have to me deserves any wrath that God can send her way. But I'll pray for you, and ask God to forgive you and pray that you will find compassion for the sick and suffering people of this world. Take care and God Bless.

Surely it's not a sin to give you my honest opinion. Certainly have suffered the wrath of Maggie Mae though.

If you can operate a computer there are things you can do. If you can tolerate sitting in front of that computer all day, typing, then you have enough strength in you to work. There are a lot of people who get disability and there are a lot of people who can still work. I see 70 year olds at walmart greeting people all of the time. And, if a wheelchair bound person can get a job, so can you. This forum is not helping your "depression", and that chair isn't helping that bulging disc either. You are looking for a fight seems like. Miss holier than thou.

OMG you make a wonderful point. You are on fire! It kills me to here people say oh I had this happen and well that went wrong and oh I don't know how that will turn out. Why do people have to air other peoples business and then turn around and drive you crazy complaining about their own problems. Wonder if someone helps her to the computer too! We get old and we fall apart. Shit happens that is lifes terrible cycle. The Bottom line is that the FDA, Dr. Smith down the road, and Uncle Sam cash in on it. I don't really feel sorry for anyone to be honest Mama and papa go to the doctor and milk their problems to get pills to sell because their SS checks don't cover the bills every month. I know this because My EX's granny set in PoCo jail for doing that very same thing. Young and old alike just as you said it doesn't have a prefrence. You guys should just agree to disagree, God bless both of you and have a super wonderful day.

1. It's not my wrath you need to be concerned about, it God's.
2. Yes I can type a little bit on the computer, enough to keep up a little bit of conversation with someone.
3. That does not make me an expert with it. I type very slowly and can only do it for short periods,(due to arthritis in hands).
4.As I've stated I do NOT get pain medication from ANY Doctor to sell or take myself. I AM ALLERGIC.
5. If I personally knew for a fact that someone was selling drugs I would turn them in.
6. I DON'T MILK my problems to get drugs to take or SELL.
7. I wasn't complaining to get sympathy, just telling, to try to make you understand.
8. I went to school and became a certified phlebotomy tech, but no one would hire me, because of being crippled.
9. I am able to only sit at this chair for short periods. But once I'm out of bed (with assistance) I'm able to slowly move about. But because of my brittle bone disease I must be very cautious.
10. My depression is due to not being able to be as active as I've been used to,not this computer or topix.
God Bless and take care.
P.S. I had to stop typing 6 times during this session to rub my hands and ease the pain to continue typing. So now will you give me a job helping you since my typing skills are so good. I'm also not mad about the things you said about me or to me. I think it's kind of funny that you sit and pass judgment on me when you don't even know me.
Again God Bless and Take Care. Stopped 2 times typing the P.S.
