I heard the helicopter close overhead, but didn't get up to look out the window. Seemed as if it was making a wide swath. Then as usual, it took off and was gone. Of course, we never hear what went on.

It was on Tacuba Drive near La Mirada Blvd. They were asking someone to come out on the driveway with hands up. It was just a few doors from me. They repeated the suspects name several times and told him not to do anything foolish. Made reference to the family in the home. Wish I knew more.

The name they were calling out was Joseph Perez.

I was thinking there were 2 people. First they were telling someone to walk down the driveway with hands up towards the car. Then they were calling for Jose Perez to come out of the house and not to do anything stupid. After awhile they were telling someone (presumably Jose Perez) to walk down the driveway with hands up.
I have been searching the Whittier Dailey news and La Mirada police logs all day. Can find nothing about it.

And they said the address on Tacuba a couple of times. I could only understand 14.

I wonder what horrific crime was committed to command such a costly responce? Who payed the bill? Was it cost-effective?

i have been saying this for awhile now. la mirada is going DOWN HILL in many, many ways. definately NOT the la mirada i grew up in. i think the cops arent cleaning out the trash in our city quick enough, its coming to things like this. and bud h, we pay the bill, us the tax payers!

Really? There is no "utopia". Bad things happen everywhere.

yes really! im not saying i expect to live in utopia, but i also dont want this city to become south central. if your ok with it than thats ok with me. i grew up here and want to raise my children here, but if this is the direction its going in, i need to find a better city, fine with me. its just a shame

I agree and I try to do my part and try to keep the kids out of the park at night and try to keep them from parking near my house and doing their drugs, having sex. If the kids want to do the bad stuff, then they need to do it where they live, not where I live.
