I do not know if that is true, or not. I have nothing to do with how many players go. There may have been some families who could not afford to go, so they did not send their kid. Even if the player was paid for byt the organization.

I know I would have a hard time sending my kid all the way to Disney without me being there to supervise them.

I am very proud of our jr. peewee boys, I am very dissappointed in the organization if this is true about only taking there starters, I had been apart of Stanley pop warner for about 8 years now, and to whoever made the decision to leave some of the boys behind because of money issues or because they arent your star players, These boys work just as hard as the starters do, and say what you want but if it had not been for the ENTIRE TEAM these boys that did go to Disney may have not made it there. I think Im gonna let my child play somewhere else next year!

I do not know if any of what is being said is true or not, but it isn't always how hard you work at practice. Some of it comes from money raised to travel. Maybe the kids who did not get any money did not participate in the fundraising. That is where all the money for the trip comes from. I personally know of many days that we were all out fundraising and some kids NEVER showed up once to help out. If the kid is not there to help out, then they should not be entitled to any of that money. So before you go balming the optimists, or the town, please know the entire story and why it came about.

It does matter. How fair is it to the kids that are out there every day raising money just to see it go to other kids that only showed up at game time to play?

It is not fair at all.

If they played all season, they are apart of the team. How in the world can you justify anyone not taking a kid because he fail to fundraise? Fundraising is the responsibility of the adults, not the kids on the team. The kids responsibility is to come to practice, listen, play hard and respect the coach's. I really doubt any adult would be this asinine as to not allow a child to travel due to a fundraising issue. I think Stanley has a little more class than that. Congrates

I would like to give you guys the real story from the Clubs side. I know you only hear what your coaches tell you and this year most of it is not right. If you would come to an optimist meeting or ask a board member they can give all the detail you want. you should also join the optimist club. I know that most of this is not true. We have used somewhere between $10,000 to $15,000 on the Jr Peewee team for all of the travel they have done this year. This is Alabama, Winston Salem, and Disney. If you add up all the money we made on the 2 fundraiser we had this year that was not for travel but for operating expense. they total $16,000. We did not pay for any kid to go to disney, we gave $3,200 to the team to use on all the kids. The coach raised $8,000 for the bus that could have been used on the kids and they could have rode down in vans for thousand less. Your club has give all that it could and would have loved to be able to give more if we had it. Times have been hard for everyone this year but please don't blame the club for it. We need all of you and all of you help to keep this fine program running. Thanks, Long time member, and coach.
so sorry

This is crazy, even the team that lost in the title game to our boys are having better discusions than this. We are supposed to be celebrasting waht a great job the team did. We also can celebrate Blue Devil pride. The coaches did what the coaches do, got a game plan and won. The players did what they do, execute the plays and dominate. The organzation did what it could, they can only do so much, the rest is up to the parents and instead of making it a wonderful time to remember you people are trying to tear it apart. It is unbelievable, the town does not need this nor does the organization need the negativity from you all. I have kids that played in it and some still in it. Always argueing about money, life could be worse for everyone out there posting stupid things on here, but instead always want more handed to you, life is tough but complaining about it does not make it go away. Instead of just dealing with tough times and teaching the kids how to move forward they hear the negativity, real good way to do it. this is a time to remember the holidays, what to be thankful for, life and the sport team that won the NATIONAL TITLE in case you forgot so please get one with it. Great job boys, coaches and team, thank you Stanley for helping support and making the Blue Devils what they are National Champs

Why would they with people like you always complaining. Dawn man just be honored to be on a National Championship team. It's funny that no one else was complaining on here until y'all got back. Everyone that was here was cheering you guys on. But as soon as the bus pulled up. Let the complaining began. Stop being so miserable and just enjoy the good times. Congrats to all the boys on a job well done.

trying to stir stuff up, why put this stuff on here about how much u did for the team. how much money u spent on them, the parents did all the work and thats that. so shut up, and enjoy what the kids and coaches and parents did for the program. and without td and jr we are in trouble, they run it the right way.

The only one trying to stir stuff is YOU! TD and JR represent the Town of Stanley very well. No one is asking them to step away. Actually I think the community as well as the program needs them more than ever. As for your commit about the parents having to do it all. Not sure how it is now. But when my kid played in Stanley. I worked every game and helped were ever I was needed. That's just how it is. When we traveled in 2005 to Disney. I was one of the ones beating the doors down and asking for money. To help with the expense of Disney. It is tough on everyone. Especially the program. So just be very proud of the program you are in and try to always be role model for the little ones. You truly are unbelievable
