Anyone else find it odd the CEO of omhs hospital quits before the new hospital is completed?

Several rumors going around

1-new hospital foundation sinking causing windows to blow out?
2-before coming here he allegedly bankrupted a hospital in Texas and left a town in dire straits as the hospital like here employed a large portion of the community.
3-many terminations ongoing at the old facility to cut costs. Departments at current facility will not transition to new facility due to lack of funds?
4-why would a CEO announce his resignation before his billion dollar project is completed?

What are your thoughts/comments/concerns here?

Who is even going to practice there? Many surgeons and doctors already don't make rounds at the current OMHS, what's the point of investing so much if you can't get your local stakeholders to buy in?

The hospital isn't sinking. My best friend is working out there and says that's a bunch of crap. It's still on schedule as much as possible with weather delays. Barber is at retirement age- y wouldn't he retire?

I hope the place sinks. Yes...they fired several people to build that precious new hospital. Not caring how it affects peoples lives...its all about the almighty dollar to them.

Hes not leaving before the hospital opens. He is leaving in july. The last ceo left right after the healthpark was built and the one before him left right after the last triplett st expansion. Its pretty standard.

Thats a lie. Most of the local doctors do have privilege there and take advantage of them.

Please make sure you know what your speaking about before calling people idiots. It is well known that they were having sinking issues. And the windows have had to be fixed or replaced multiple times because of it. If you think you know something is fine. But don't call people idiots when you don't know for a fact!

Since I kno one of the head guys doing the windows I can tell u they haven't cracked because of sinking issues. There have been some install issues that caused some to crack but not sinking. People are saying its issues in the basement- there isn't even a basement. Lol
As for people getting fired- after spending 4 days there i can assure u there are a lot more that need to be fired.

Exactly- and that wasn't from sinking. One of the guys screwed up the install and cracked it

That's what happens when you hire loser non skilled UNION workers to build something..how many times will our officials allow these horrible contracting companies to continue?? Just a matter of time until the convention is the same way, way over budget & horribly constructed!! Embarrassing & union labor is sloppy and way to expensive..

This whole post is crazy. The hospital has not cut numerous jobs to build the hospital, they have actually increased jobs, get the facts straight, our hospital stay full and need all the staff they can get. As far as Jeff barber goes he's 69 years old and will be moving to Texas to be with his children and grandchildren. Not the biggest fan of him myself but can a man not see out the work he has done then quietly move on to enjoy his life? As far as the hospital sinking, this is a false statement entirely. People have nothing to do with their time then try to turn things around and make rumors. The hospital is right on time and it will be an amazing structure. Instead of starting rumors and being negative why doesn't everyone atheist give it a chance. It's negative thoughts about omhs that make it have the reputation it has today. Omhs has been voted one of the best hospitals in the US. We are lucky to have it here.
