Yes i agree...I have had hometown wireless for over a year now and at fist it was great!!! But now it seems that every week my service is failing and when i call them they say the signal is fine so it has to be my problem.... funny thing is is that ive had the same computer and router for years and had time warner and never had a problem, but now its so bad that i cant rely on having internet.. it cuts in and out constantly. and when i call the number, it either rings 50 times or someone answers and in fact tells me that it has to be a problem with my equipment. all im saying is, is that if you pay ur bill, u shouldnt have to guess if and when you service is going to work.

Wow looks like more people are coming out and telling the truth bout hometown! Sure hope u guys get some good net soon might have to switch to another provider though cause you will billed rather you got net or not! It sucks when u live in the dead zones and can't get much of nothing! Depending on what u use your net for wimax might be worth a try or cable if your close enough we had to pay to get it ran to our house but it was well worth the cost!! Which we game alot so that's why we had to have some good net so it's worth a try to give cable a call if your interested! For everyone else with sucky net hope it gets better for you cause I know from experience how aggravating it can be

I got 10mbs download and 1mbs upload thru my cable co. I pay $45 a month. With Hometowns new plans I would be out about $120 for the same thing and if I wanted my bandwidth guaranteed it would cost me another $100. They do offer the faster Internet but for a lot larger fee.

Hometown are a couple of ignorant pricks who think they know what they are doing. Bunch of jonnycomelatelys, they are actually the 3rd wimax providers in the area. They came in jumping on everyones frequencies, thats why there was so much interference. Even Kywimax tried to help them untill they started screwing with their stuff. Now i heard they were interfering with the radio station. Hope the fcc shuts the basterds down. Pisses me off when dumbasses come into money think they want to do something, but dont have the brains to do research.

Wymaxx has been down for over a month where we are outside of town.. they have made NO effort to fix their antenna... customer service is horrible.
I'm gonna check out Hometown Wireless... cant be any worse than no net at all and the provider dont care!

That's not true. Wimax is having trouble with Radiation coming off from the water tower in Crab Orchard it's interferring with signals. This has been since Tuesday!!! Steve and Jeff are great! Customer service is not horrible. Every single time I call I always get a call back in a timely manor! And for it to be down like you say outside of town it's funny I'm outside of town too and haven't had any trouble what so ever!

Just a little advice, Hometown is not any better as far as that goes. Customer service with them is horrible! I would recommend cable if you have that option. Hope this helps

We are at the far reaches of the signal so it goes in and out... unless they really update, then their limit is five miles from the tower.. technically we are a little further but when it works, it works.

(radiation off the water tower???? surrrreeee!)

Thanks, it's still a little plain, but we hope to fill it with more Lincoln county specific links and information soon. We just want to avoid the site turning into a giant "ad" looking page with stuff flashing everywhere or a dozen links all pointing to buy stuff. Those kind of pages always rub me the wrong way :-(
To bad you don't know what you are doing. Page is a giant ad. And to anyone out there looking for better internet. Use Wimaxx Express (Waynesburg) if you live in the southern part of the county and Kywimax (Danville) if in the northern part. If you live in town get dsl. The dumbass running hometown is only interfering with the real isp's in the area. I'll be glad when the fcc throws his stupid ass in jail or at least fines his ass enough to where he can't keep his business. The sooner the better.
