Can someone tell me the policy for price matching at walmart? Will local Walmart, such as Stanford or Danville match prices from Lexington stores such as Meijer's and Target, and will the match someone such as IGA from Liberty?

They are supposed to match ANY store except for another Wal-Mart store. I have never had a problem with them matching but if possible I would print off the ad or get the ad from the newspaper because there are a few cashiers who want to be asses and won't let you comp unless they see the ad. I have never had a problem but I have seen other customers have to prove the price.

Thank You! also, do they only do it on food items? What about cleaning supplies, laundry supplies and pet supplies, like cat food, dog food and kitty litter? Sorry for all the questions. I am just getting sick of spending so much and would like to learn to shop "smarter" and save a little.

They will comp prices within 34 miles, however, with an ad, some managers will okay prices from some other areas.

They comp anything except cigarettes when I worked there. It's okay I totally understand, and the way things are today a person has to save all they can. Now occasionally a rude customer will get behind you and act a fool if you comp too many items, but don't worry about them, let them wait their turn.

Yeah I never saw them refuse any ad if you can show them, and most cashiers will just take your word for it.

we do match prices from other places in the area. they have to be advertised in their sale papers. you can't get anything free so they won't comp anything like buy one get one free. we also can't comp anything from the sale ad that says something is a certain percentage off. hope this helps

And...sometimes I don't know the exact price on things (milk, ususally) and I'll ask the cashier to please comp it to the ALDI price and they are nice enough to do that (and they don't really have to since I don't know the price).

I had a cashier that would not comp the cigarettes and she had just comped the peoples before me. I asked her if she did she said no. I told her I wanted them comped and she just took off to break. True Story!

There should have been signs posted before the 24th. I would have gone to self-check out and not waited in line for 5 minutes to be told that cigs were not comped.
