CHLORINE GAS LEAK AT STANFORD LAKE COPS ARE HAVING TO EVACUATE EVERYONE WITHIN 5 MILES OF WATER WORKS ROAD ON 698. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. COPS ARE HAVING TO GO DOOR TO DOOR TO DO THIS. EVERYONE ON BLUE LICK ROAD 5 MILES FROM 27 IS BEING EVACUATED AND THIS IS JUST ONE THAT THEY MENTIONED.

thanks so much! i live in stanford, off main street and my mother called and woke me up about 2:30 and she lives in Boneyville. I went and got her and could defintelly smell it in the air. It was a very scary situation. Im just wondering how long this will last and how far do people need to go? thanks

Its a shame that I live in North Carolina and some of my family was visiting and we received a call that there was a chlorine leak at the Old Stanford Lake. We then realized that NO one in Bluelick or Bonneyville had been notified of this life threating situation. We learned that the call went out at 1230 am and we were informed at 220am so we took upon ourselves to call our family and neighbors to get them out of this deadly situation. It is a real shame that the police or fire department had not came to our aid. It is really sad something needs to be done about the evacution system of how to get everyone out. The system at this moment has failed.

Incorrect statement. I live within 1/2 mile of the water works and was not informed. I live on 698. Whoever says they were going door to door is wrong.

My parents live on Hazlett rd and Curt Folger came out to evac them at 4:30 lastnight, then told them it was okay now. They never had to leave. But mom said she could smell it in the air. So it was legit.

well i live on 698 right down from the water treatment place and if it hadnt been for a friend and his girlfriend we would have never knew about it! so thanks to shay mullins and his little lady! as for our fearless fire dept and law enforcement who by the way live down from me and couldn't stop and tell us, they had to run to the stanford city limits! they are a waste of time and money! wont see my vote this yr!!! makes me and a few other residents around here feel like we are the one's that dont matter if we live or die! thanks again shay and joanie!

it was a joke! My son was out on the porch most of the night watching the sirens go up and down and not one person stopped to tell us there was an evacuation. We heard rumors, then my husband drove towards the water plant and he was told the evacuation was about over. We live just up the road from the water plant!
