Coyotes just laid off their entire management staff in a feeble attempt to cut cost and to save money while they search desperatly for some idiot to take the three locations off their hands. Since they just had a majority off thier equipment reposessed I would think twice about joining there. High overhead plus no member base equals, well you know, chains on the doors. While the upper management team continue to sharpen that cost cutting sword, scramble with spread sheets, and changing the batteries in their blinking bluetooth ear devices. They should also get their resumes ready. I hear there are a few good postings on Craig's List.

Actually, they got rid of employees who just did not make the cut as far as not knowing anything about fitness besides working out!

This must be one of the managers that were laid off and thank god they got rid of you. Actually, I am a member at Coyotes and I work near and workout at both the Chandler and Gilbert Facilities. FYI- The Coyotes just replaced all the old equipment with brand new equipment, pretty big expense for a company that is financially strapped don't ya think. I think management made a great decision to get rid of the old managers. I have noticed a huge improvement in customer service and the overall atmosphere. It's obvious the Coyotes have made the decision to recruit employees who actually care about their members and their company.

I am a member and I am happy to work out at that gym. I work out 6 to 7 days a week and at different hours and have never had any issues. Until than this sounds personal with you loosing your job, maybe you were over paid for what you did or what you didn't do:-) Find a job already.

They just closed. I signed up three weeks ago and paid for a full year and they closed. The val vista location is 9 miles from my home and the opposite direction from work so I would never go there. It would cost me an extra $40 in gas just to get there, and since it's within a 10 mile radius they will not refund my money.

Anyone who is able should cancel their membership now, and to the other locations as well.

$40 extra in gas??? What do you drive? A Mack Truck-18 wheeler? You had the option to purchase a month to month membership, but you chose to take a risk by paying in full for a year at a cheaper rate. Now you're whining about having to drive a few extra miles to a location only 4 miles away??? It sounds like you didn't really want to workout in the first place.

They were actually leasing the old equipment, and the cost of the new equipment (which sucks) was cheaper.
And now they're closed for good (at least the Pecos Location).
I'll be joining elsewhere.

The Val Vista location is smaller, and now with the 2 gyms combined into one, really sucks. I had to wait for a few workout stations, and people were hogging 3-4 dumbells by their bench while they were busy chatting away.

I'm glad I'm month to month, because next month will be my last.

HAHAA, how funny i was the manager at that location when they were just opening my staff and had that place packed with members, we gave great monthly deals , great fam add specials , i mean the place was off the chains , then these morons in the corp office started getting all cocky and thinkin g they were in the same clas as LA FITNESS, 24 HRS, LIFETIME , all of wich i have worked at and brought in tons of rev because great customer service, and listing to the ecomony and what the members needed. Anyway they started to jack the prices way up and enrollmnet fees wich took away abilty to continue to sign people up and there referals cus it was just too much.Every one of there clubs they put me at we sign up tons of people at afforable rates and great fun personality in the clubs. Thenj these moron hire this guy to run the chandler club and the place stared to flop people hated him and the staff couldnt stand him , on top of that he was screwing a 16 yr old girl and he was 42, when i told him i thought he was completely retarded and out of his mind, he got me fired, they said it was becuase i was talking with LA FITNESS IN CALIFORNIA for a possible GM position wich soaund great but i didnt want to move. getting rid of me was there worst mistake , im serious the numbers in that club just plumited it was a ghost town in there , on top of that they ignored me when i told that this guy was a rapist, then like 4 months later they fired him for that and just cause he was a complete moron with no sales or people skills, i can tell you this i was great tho the members and i was loyal to the gym i never stold not even a penny from them and would would insane hours to bring in record breaking numbers , and these fuck heads shaffted me and now there failing, and thats a great thing. you people deserve better and should feel confortable that you money isnt being stolen by the employees and your 16yr old daughters and being molested by some over the hill loser who claims he is the GM of your club. hahahahahahaha

as far as laying off employees, i heard that this "beware" guy was an employee who was "LET GO" and wasn't making his draw every month. don't be bitter that you can't sell a membership to people that take time out of their day to come in your place of business "TO BUY". as far as the amount of members they have, everyone i know is a member there because of their awesome conditioning classes and state of the art equipment. locking the doors, i think not. I heard that the gym was being purchased by 2 "UFC" fighters out of Las Vegas. I'll keep everyone up to date once i hear more good news.

More good news...they now shut their doors (with no notice) at the Val Vista and Williams Field location! Nice.

Got up this morning, hadn't been to the gym in a week or so. Pulled up to the Val Vista location at 6:00AM, creatine in me and ready to go. And what to my wondering eyes did appear...2 18-wheelers being loaded with machines! What a bunch of B.S. Mountainside Fitness here I come (even though I was directed by the note on the door to PURE FITNESS...WHATEVER!). To those of you who posted earlier defending the company...I have a bridge to sell you. No one is salvaging this mess.

Channel 3 is looking for someone to go on camera about the gym closing. I emailed them to let them know what had happened.

Contact the "On Your Side" via their web site. You can only contact them by email. They WILL call you back so be sure to leave a phone number.

They called me but because of my job I can't be on camera. If you want answers here is you chance.

I'm so mad! I can't believe that this type of stuff still goes on and they get away with it. I know that times are tough, we all get that. If they could have just handled this with some type of professionalism and let their members know what was going on, and give us a 2-week notice. If we tried to quit the gym without a 30 day notice, they would have us in collections. It's appalling that they were taking people money up to the end! Shame on you...

I loved going to this gym and I went to their suggested location and it was HORRIBLE. I just can't believe they took my money on the 1st and did not have the courtesy to contact me. A flier in the gym, a letter in the mail, an email, or phone call would have been nice. I have contacted several news stations because corporate does not answer and their mailboxes are full! I guess in this economy you can not trust anyone or any company. Its sad.

For those of you who is desperately looking for a new place to work out at (as myself).

Lifetime has a special offer for coyote's members (admin fee $85 which will buy you till the end of this month of March and $39 per month after that +$5 daycare)- was there today, was way too crowded for me and I hate to waist time waiting for equipment

Fitness Works - supposedly they have an agreement with Coyotes to match their rates %100 (too far away though :(((()

Mountainside new location in Gilbert - will open in 2 months.

Is there any other decent place around here (Whilliams Field location)?????????

It's funny how after they closed the chandler location, they raised my monthly rate! I called the Val Vista club and they told me they would fix it. I asked what I'd have to do to cancel and they said come to the club and give us a 30 day notice. The next morning they shut down! Thanks for the 30 day notice!!! Does anyone know how you are supposed to cancel now?
