People fear what they dont understand. Bitter, sad, ignorant folk will always be among us. But, you can not stop the march of time; and the time are a changing.

We all expaected this.

I was in Atlanta recently and heard a group of Black youths call a white guy a white MOFO(they used the full terminology) wonder if that is racial? guess it is only a racial slur if a white person uses it against a black.
Kinda like what is the difference between the Black Panthers and the KKK? Our President approves of the Black Panthers but not the KKK so I guess that is difference.

Race relation will go down hill like aa snowball when the almighty one doesn't get anything done in four years.

I hate to say it but it will get worse than it was in the sixties.

I was in the middle of a black community, teaching in a school that ran 60% nonwhite back in the late sixties. It's an unfortunate fact that there are always elements that will abuse a situation. Peaceful protest marches were punctuated by hoodlums doing their thing. Not so much down south, I think, but times have changed. Southern cities are no experiencing what we up north dealt with. Not good but we need to be prudent in how we see these events and not end up blaming an whole community for the "criminal" acts of a few. That is to say, the white community is not equivalent to the KKK and the black community is not equivalent to their lowest element. Not correct, however, to equate the Panthers to the KKK, they were far different in their focus and actions.

The panthers operated on broad daylight protecting their own. They were not, essentially, a criminal or terrorist organization. I walked pretty much without fear among militant blacks for I offered no threat.

You are wrong. The panthers in Winston-Salem about destroyed that city during the 60's. Burnt and vandalized downtown during the night so don't say they were above the KKK. Both groups were pure shi-.

T38. Thank you. But don't you get tired of explaining the obvious and the pertinent to the Great Unwashed? You do it well, over and over and obviously have the patience of Job and the wisdom of someone whom cares.

But the phrase,'pearls before swine' seems appropriate.

It's a difference in where one lives. We say black militancy as a self defense mechanism. The Panthers,as a group, were intended to be that. Sorry about Winston Salem but honestly, what was happening down here in the sixties invited an invading army to put right. I know y'all were not guilty by a long shot but I can still see images of police dogs, fire hoses clubs and some cracker governor with a baseball bat in his paws. It was a war. Shittt happens in war time. We had our fair share in the north but we also were not hanging blacks. Northern racism was a bit more subtle but don't for a second believe thee wasn't some of it happening in urban centers like NYC, Chicago and LA. They had their gangs of white thugs, not wearing sheets but no less violent.

I think it's a shame, but not unexpected, that these types of racism would occur after the election of a black President. I would like to think that everyone will eventually come together and treat each other with dignity and respect but unfortunately racism is instilled in some people (both black and white) and it is hard for me to understand because my parent raised us to respect people no matter what their race, religion or sexual orientation.

I sincerely pray that people will come to accept President-elect Obama because I think he will help this country rather than hinder and in turn will help these people out of some of their economic woes and other problems that this country is experiencing.

Those of us who are intelligent should pray for his safety and for those who are too ignorant to accept or know the difference.

What a shame all this is. He, like all people raised to the office of president will answer for his actions and deeds to the God who created him.

Yes, I did. Suffice to say, the Italians ran my home town. It was HQ for the largest GE manufacturing in the country. There was a saying during the war, Schenectady lights and hauls the world. The Italians were a large part of the work force as were all the newer immigrant populations at the time.

I agree and add that all people are accountable to God our Creator.

All this ugly stuff should not be given so much publicity, and I sometimes wonder if it is wise to allow "comments". Most of it is so negative.

I want to relate something from Asheville, North Carolina. Yesterday, while in the bathroom of a restaurant, as I was washing my hands, two little girls of a race different from me were running towels out of the automatic dispenser. At first I thought this was just childlike fascination, but as I finished washing, the little girl handed me a towel, something I took as a very sweet gesture. I thanked her and told her that was very nice, then she proceeded to hold the door for me! God bless her!

Lets remember - "Be not overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good" (and, a little child shall lead them)

Obviously these little ones have had a decent, gracious upbringing. You don't see that much anymore. Thanks for posting this great story.

Have a friend whose brother is a Police employee in a large metropolitan area. His department worked for two months on the plan to deal with the violence, looting, and burning if Obama lost the election. A sad commentary.

The people who MAKE it a racial issue are the blacks. If not a racial issue, why were Oprah and Jesse Jackson standing there with eyes full of tears? It was all about race. And everyone was saying it was "such an historic moment in time". Why?

Fatassman doesn't remember the last 8 years. The WORST president ever has pretty much gone "brokeback" on the united states of america without any spit. Is that because Dumbya is white? NO. It has nothing to do with that. It is pretty much because he is dumb as a rock and surrounded himself with criminals intent on crimes against nature(america). Obamamlamadingdong on the other hand is very articulate and intelligent. Thus far he seems to be surrounding himself with competent civil servants rather than the ilk of the current administration.

If I was going in for brain surgery, I would want the smartest nerdiest person doing the job. I want the same for the person running the good ole USA. NOT some Joe Blow Sixpack that I could go dring a beer with.

One of the regular posters on this forum even got in on the racial action before the election was over. Yona threatened the life of the president elect at one point in the run up. He has now concocted some crazy story how he turned himself into the Secret Service and they cleared him. What a laugh. He is truly a madman for posting that threat, and has lost ALL of his little credibility.

Who and what is to be believed. The media has had their antennas out for quiet a while for any thing they can write about especially if it can minutely be connected to the villainous white race.
There are just as many incidents of black racism as there are white racism - the difference is how they are recorded. There is very little difference in an organization that espouses racism whether it be white or black.
By far all races in the US are law abiding, peaceful, and productive citizens.
It is a few that cause problems and they come from all races - the media does not properly report the good and bad - most often the sensational.
Senator Obama is our president elect - he needs all of us.
