This guy has an excuse for everything. It would be easy to find out how much he was actually paid for the timber just go back to the where Tatro delivered the logs. I'm sure they probably have some records.

Exactly, if it were legit there would be some trace of paper trail somewhere. They should penalize him for at least double just for putting so much effort into weaseling out on his actions.

lets be real folks- this info is from the Bennington Banner...most of us buy it just so we can start our woodstoves not for details or facts. There are no real facts- how quickly we turn on our neighbors and support out of towners. You trust that these folks hadn't agreed to have their land logged? yet had others bid on it. Come on? How easy is it to "sneak" on ones property with bulldozers, skidders, log trucks, chain saws, permits...you should be supporting your local business owners- not trusting outsiders who come up every 4 yrs- how are they helping your town not by going out to dinner in your restaurants, going to local grocery stores, entertainment, home improvemnt centers... let the courts decide but shame on you for casting stones when these articles have been as weak as 2 day old coffee. Lets get outraged by our school system, teen drug use, repeat sex offfenders- living next door.

I agree with you on some points...yes the Banner is shoddy. As for "turning on our neighbors and supporting out of towners", I will support who is right, not breaking the law, and not wasting taxpayer dollars through a trial - whether that be my "neighbor" or the "out of towner". "Computer mistake" or not - you find out you didn't pay a bill, you pay it. End of story. I agree that there are much more important things going on that people should be outraged about. I guess this one is just easier for people to complain/comment about...

I tend to agree with NBGS Parent on this one. We will never know if there was an oral agreement or not.....its a classic case of he said she said. Without written documentation the courts will most likely rule against Kobelia. The real question here is why havent they been paid six years later?
